There's a difference from 'being informed' e.g while sitting in a local pub and hearing an opinion as opposed to being told definitively from a minor club official.

If I came on here and said, 'I've been informed that Guehi is joining Manchester City next week for £30 million,' I would expect people to ask me questions as to my source rather than just accept it as good information.

Dazza is heavily criticised for making similar statements to yours without supporting information so it's not singling you out to ask about your source.

I too have been the subject of much vituperation on HOL in the distant past, on occasions when using the word "Source", accordingly use of this word has fanned the flames on this esteemed site.
In the final analysis there will be those who accept my statement as being accurate or deem it an inverse of the truth.Time will tell !

I take it that in this case that if the player does indeed join then you will no longer rely quite so heavily on your 'source.'
You'll probably say the information was passed 'in good faith' and 'to err is human' in relation to the source!

On the broader question of the RWB cover for Munoz , the club probably thought it was in a reasonable position at the beginning of the season.
There were the options of promising youngsters Kphora and Cardines as well as reliable standby Clyne.
It's just misfortune that all are injured at the same time.
Clyne will need replacing in any event at the end of the season anyway, so the sooner we get a replacement in the better.

With respect I stated that the deal had not been finalised, inferring that the reported 'Signing' and transfer fee was perhaps premature. I did not assert that there was no possibility of the player joining our club.

On a broader matter, I believe it is best that I do not comment on any possible transfer activity in relation to our club for the prime reason that the debate has the propensity to evolve into a "Willo Thread" and detracts from the subject matter. I am of the opinion that HOL is best served by my disappearing into the ether in this respect. I shall leave the 'Stage' to others.Thank You.

I accept the point raised in your first paragraph.
With regard to your second paragraph, if you genuinely retired from the topic of transfers, perhaps you could let me have details of your source so I can contact the individual and pass on the relevant information to the Hol community!

Whether this has happened or not, it seems a good idea in principle that it should. Get a capable Munoz replacement in at a reasonable cost, size him up over the rest of the season and, if he’s looking good, sell Munoz in the summer. Obviously I’d prefer the last bit not to happen.
 
when they say he is having a medical then the deal is coming to a end at the moment no mention anywhere of that , so for me it comes under click bait

Clearly in the mindset of this esteemed member I fabricated my response in relation to the supposed signing of this player for self-promotion. With respect such an accusation is hogwash.
I do have conversations with a plethora of individuals relating to our club and the wider football 'World' !!
I have nothing further to add as any additional comments repudiating this claim could evolve into another dastardly 'Willo Thread' and HOL is not best served by such a development. 🙄

Thing is, Old Chap, is that I have conversations with a plethora of people. I once spoke to The late Queen but she did not tell me if she believed AMW was a nonce. She did reference her family though and the wider world.
The point I’m making is whether the people you speak to specifically say ‘yeah, we’re signing this bloke’ or ‘no we’re not signing that person.’ I believe that to be a highly unlikely senario. In other words I suggest that you would not be told unless you were inner circle. Same as the other Fella. So this is why there is scepticism. I’m trying not to disrespect you as I love your posts but I find it difficult to believe that either of you would know either way, unless you are part of the inner circle and I personally don’t care for this ‘oh do you reckon he’s this or that’ guessing game. So forgive me but I just assume you both have a bit of the Walter Mittys about you or do excellent journalistic searching when it comes to transfers. If that’s the case - say. If I see something I’ll invariably post the link.

There is many a slip between lip and cup.

I expect football clubs are full of people who think they know what's going on but there is a huge difference between the club trying to sign a player and the player and his club agreeing. Even when an agreement has been reached in principle as we know another club can gazump us.

I don't doubt that Willo and Dazza have their sources but as someone one said "nobody knows nothing".
