I would say there are some genuine Trans people. However, when it started to be celebrated and promoted, that was unnecessary and pandering to lobby groups. Acceptance and toleration is fine; overtly promoting to kids in particular is not fine. Sexuality does not really require any kind of celebration: I'm not sure why we think it does. You are whatever you are. You don't need to throw a party because of it. Nor do you need to be ashamed.

Hey, you could disregard mental illness and just say an extremely fat person eating cake is happy, but were you right in giving the cake?.....someone smoking fags with bad lungs can be happy.

I'm also a bit concerned that you used the word, 'kid' in this context......Anything involving this kind of thing should strictly be reserved to adulthood.

We have a young person in our extended family who (I don't know the words gender fluid?) appears to be gay and likes to dress as a woman. They flip flop all over the place. Unsurprisingly they are unemployed, I would guess that most employers would feel if you can't decide something as fundamental as your gender or sexual orientation you are not a good decision maker.

They are happy but for how long? There's not a lot the parents can do (they are supportive) but they will have to find their own way.

I think when you are in your teens most people will be tolerant as this is part of the growing up process that young people do. However if they are still like this in their thirties I suspect most people will be exasperated "sort your life out".

Its no secret that there is high suicides and suicide attempts and thoughts by those who are trans. We need to find a better way to deal with "gender confusion" rather than mutilate young children and even adults.

With liberal parents, unless they have been gifted a talented child who does well, they just end up producing kids who can't function well and adapt to the very real stresses, setbacks and daily problems of real life. Conservative parents produce more resilient children because their parents believe in role models and objective realities over relativism and non lifestyle judgement.

With many liberal raised children as soon as they leave the nest they are floundering.

That's not successful parenting.

The whole point of parenting is you are raising someone who can succeed when you are no longer there.....Unless you have a child with cognitive set-backs (thankfully a small percent) that should be the expectation.

The liberal worldview doesn't have a good track record. I'll make the point here that I've also seen many parents who think of themselves as liberals and left wing but in reality when you look at what they do and their expectations for their children....you realise that it's mostly performative and done to fit in with their social groups.

As soon as it's something that costs them to be liberal......they just avoid it.
