Woke is alive and well

Oi! I'm a Leonard. Or at least it's my middle name.

Mind you, I'm a miserable so-and-so come to think of it. It must be all this hate crime I've suffered over the years.
Snap, 100% agree. Middle name as well.

I really hate the term Karen. I cannot remember a bad lady with that name, they have all been really nice so I feel sorry for them getting lumbered with that insult.

I had a friend called Len whose middle name (which he kept quiet about) was Cyril. When he did his National Service he had to spend two years being called Elsie after the army way of calling out a surname followed by the initials.

The country is really becoming ridiculous. What happened to " Sticks and stones etc " or are the UK now made up of so many people who have led sheltered lives being told they are all winners with 5* grades for writing their own name on an exam paper ?

At last, action is being taken against 'Leonards' - why have we had to wait so long?

Leonards up in arms ? they could take the fight to St Leonards Warrior square. And maybe utilise some new weapons invented by Leonardo da Vinci. And win. Vinci by name Vinci by nature.

Anyhoo, getting back to woke. It does seem very racist how the media & academia seem to recall so many great inventors & scientists who were straight white men. Surely that's an oversight ? i know the BBC have tried to rectify the problem.....

surely we cannot have all those Patriarchy evil white men taking all the limelight ?

A few years back Radio 3 ran a series of programmes about little known black classical composers.

Somebody waspishly commented "yeah there's a reason they are little known".

That’s reminded me of the film ‘The Green Book’ about a black pianist touring the Deep South in America with an Italian American in around 1962. Really good and funny, but edgy Italian Americans are in one way or another.
