Winter Transfer Window 2026

For the first transfer window in a long long time, I am not remotely interested in or excited by any of the people we are currently closely linked to 😕

That is the thing for me.

We have to build the new stand for long term success and keep within FFP, so I was completely down with SP not spending as building costs have sky rocketed since the original budget (which was covered by the yanks), As frustrating as that was.

But to suddenly indicate we are able to spunk £50m on a striker only a few months later?

The math is starting to get weird.
The financial year isn't up until end of June, I believe. Perhaps the board know who's going to be leaving in the Summer. so as to balance the books...

Same here, usual Palace farce ,all smoke and mirrors, fed up and disappointed in the management and leadership ,if it was a responsible company the whole lot would have been sacked by the shareholders, instead of which we will all be plugging away next season, hoping for another miracle!!!

I know what you mean. The whole JP thing hasn’t helped (especially with the way he’s gone about it)!

I think Im underwhelmed because we just don’t seem to be addressing the issues in the positions we need. I.e. replacing Marc and bringing in a goal scoring midfielder.
I am confident both Johnson and Guessand will both turn out to be good players for us - but they aren’t really the priority positions in my book.

Well not content with the apparent chaos of this window, the gossip headlines are already selling Wharton in the summer window.
Almost makes one nostalgic for the days of long serving players like Ward and Speroni who were just content to play for Palace ( although the cynics amongst you might say that top clubs never wanted them in the first place).

Wharton wants Man City (I don’t think that’s a secret anymore). If they come in for him then yes, if they don’t then I see him staying with us a bit longer.

new Manager Interviews top question from each of them -

Steve so you sell high buy low , where does all the money go ?

Steve so you didn’t back your best ever, highest achievement manager - will you back me in the window

So Steve. You paid the last guy £4.5m to lose to Macclesfield and then blame everyone else. I’ll do it £3m.

Sadly Wharton is better than palace.
Like MG he will smash it at a top club. You can see his class for us so with better around him he will shine. All we can do is know that it was palace who nurtured them. FWIW 🤔

My uninformed guess for the window?
Mateta departs and a centre back joins on loan ( possibly from Chelsea) and a forward also joins.
Another player move falls through at the last moment as time runs out.
Steve says January is a difficult window but he thinks we have enough for the rest of the season.

Allan Saint Maximin anyone?
Just left his club in Mexico due to being the victim of racism, so is now a free agent.
Always thought he was quite exciting to watch, but is he just another Traore who runs with the ball but has no end product?

Can’t understand why we are almost at transfer deadline and not even an indication of a replacement for Guehi …..didn’t we stop him moving to Liverpool because of this ? If they think that Riad is a replacement for an England regular …a guy who has not even played 1 game in 18 months, appears injury prone and has yet to impress …this could be catastrophic.

If OG stays for the rest of the season i agree a centre half has to be a priority. We can’t replace Guehi like for like but getting somebody in who has played more than a handful of games at senior level is required.

Of course the alternative is that the manager looks at his squad and the selects formation and tactics to get the most from them. That would mean a back four.
