Winter Transfer Window 2026

the transfer window is very quite across the board only big name players in the news , strange window , think with bottom 3 coming detached clubs maybe sticking with what they have , but in our case we do need two more at least , our jan windows have got us Munoz and Wharton and they was last min signings so heres hoping
 
Just saw a piece on newsnow that Palace are letting Lerma go to some Turkish side rather than activate his one year extension as he wants to move . Shame he is a great squad player and utility player , got a rubbish shot though .
 
see we have brought back Danny Imray , my son has high regard for him , that has been because we have friends that live in fleetwood who have seen him play . so maybe ready to step up 2 goals 2 assist as full back and right footed

First those comments are from folk who have not studied the full accounts.

Second you have hit the same nail many folk have hit. Older posters like us cannot lose touch with how CPFC 2010 came into existence. This collective trauma feeds Parrish and his pledge to run the club sustainably and rigidly within the rules.

I have had periods of genuine poverty and come out the other end relatively plush. Adapting from excess caution and constant self denial is hard. Perhaps that mindset inertia exists with our club?
 
So here we are again, 3 days before the deadline, no one has a clue who is going or staying, the manager said he was leaving 3 months ago, who are we buying for, loans to buy, but can only play the player a certain number of games, deals stalled, just a normal Palace window, i feel sorry for Uche, a season of his career wasted, and we still don't know whether he is any good or not.
 
Its the same for every club during a transfer window. Sellers hold out to the last minute to pressure buyers into paying more. Fans moan the club are doing nothing, even Liverpool fans are moaning and they spent 350m in August. Its not like the 80s where there was a transfer request list you pick players from or you phone a club to try and buy player X and noone else would find out until it was agreed. Its all shady deals, leaks, fake bids and bribes primarily driven by agents after a pay day.
 
I appreciate that we're not going to close every deal that's being reported, and that some of them are works of fiction, but is anyone wondering where all this money has come from? £35m on Johnson, big money for JSL, plus others. I can't help but wonder if we allowed Glasner to spend some of this at the start of the season, the conversation might have gone differently in October. I guess, equally, Parish might have said we have £100m to spend from Jan onwards and this wasn't enough to make Glasner stay beyond his contract
 
The problem with this window is You either end up buying a player who’s not played for a while or overpay because a club doesn’t want to sell.

Or in the case of Max Killman - end up buying a crap player because the crap team he’s currently playing for don’t want him! 🤦🏻

That is the thing for me.

We have to build the new stand for long term success and keep within FFP, so I was completely down with SP not spending as building costs have sky rocketed since the original budget (which was covered by the yanks), As frustrating as that was.

But to suddenly indicate we are able to spunk £50m on a striker only a few months later?

The math is starting to get weird.
