If it was a foregone conclusion I think he would have come out and said he is leaving at the end of the season. As it is i think if the club agree to try and grow and Glasner shares the project, he stays for 2 years, if Parish doesnt sell him the dream, he goes. What makes me laugh is every football 'expert' seems delighted to announce Glasner is 100% off (yet they dont seem to mention Irola, Silva etc.). Maybe our cup win has ruffled a few feathers!

1 year suits all. If Chelsea or man u were interested they would have Glasner already.

As we have seen from spurs, winning a trophy while having crap league form is not what the "top 6" clubs want. They would prefer a higher league position and champions league football. Trophies are an added bonus. I think we got 2.5 million for winning the fa cup last year?

Based on December and January… I’m not sure the Midas touch is quite as golden as we thought. I really like Ollie and he gave us the FA cup, but as another poster said, the stars were aligned. Everything clicked for him.

Take away the FA cup (which I know cannot be ignored) and in his time we have had a couple of really bad runs and a complete inability to change the system (same Amorim at Utd) even though the players available were much more suited to a 442 etc.

If he were to go now (which I don’t think he will) it would not hit home as hard as if he had left at the end of last season or even at the end of November. Now, he’s hardly set the world alight with his ‘plan B & C’ for coping with injuries and Afcon. An elite manger would have gotten more than 1 point from a possible 15 with the players to hand.

Do I want him gone, absolutely not. But do I think he needs to earn his keep… absolutely now. A result of some sort tonight, even a draw would be fantastic. Can’t see it though.

I reckon he thinks he's taken Palace as far as he can. He'll see out his contract with us (probably) and then he'll be off. I just hope Parish has a succession plan in place.
My thoughts. I also didn't like his – alleged – remark that it was his fault that we have too few players because he underestimated the risk of injury and the lack of recovery time in winter. I'm sorry, but that came across as sarcasm to me. He is regarded to plan everything down to the last detail, so how could he not have foreseen what every layman knows. But OK, what do I know.

I think he'll go at the end of the season. If he wanted to stay, he'd be talking with SP about a new contract, especially as we're in the Jan transfer window. That he's not speaks volumes.

One more year I think. He’s made some mistakes this season and underestimated how tough the PL is around this time. He clearly likes this group of players so I think he will want to improve on things next season then go to Bayern Munich along with Wharton.

It's the old story that a manager who is initially successful has a tougher time when the other clubs analysts have had a chance to work out his tactics and how best to counter them. It's also arguable that our bad run has mostly been due to our playing badly, whether because of absences or in general, rather than the opponents being particularly impressive.

Glasner is on a mission with Palace , he loves being here , he loves the players and he even loves Parish . Another couple of players added to the squad ,Guehi will walk in this morning and demand a new contract and Olise will be on the phone saying he doesn't like sauerkraut or Harry Kane after all and please can he come home
He signs a ten year deal ,Johnson and Johnson opens his cheque book and a new stand is built by the time we play our next home game , sparkling new bars and buxom barmaids the lot ...........

Waking up is a right b******

in his comments after the game last night he closed with, I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season.

I felt that there was something in the way that he said it, I felt what he was saying was I'm going nowhere, whilst the season is still in progress.

So will Rosenor if his role does not work out at Chelsea. 6.5 year contract. He must be celebrating. Makes me wonder who wrote that contract and why.
Length of contract is irrelevant, it's the release clause that matters and we have no idea what that says.

Apparently in the lower divisions it's now almost standard practice that a release clause is a few months salary which explains why there is a high turnover of managers as it doesn't cost the club that much to get rid. Too many wannbe managers, too few jobs.

The PL is different because most PL clubs are looking for experienced and successful managers and they are fewer so can demand the earth.

My guess is that Rosenior will not have a big pay out clause, that will come if he is successful and they give him a new contract. At least that is what a sensible club would do, but then again we are talking about Chelsea.

😀

And I guess there is the inevitable train of thought that says - What if I am the man to turn things around at UTD, historically one of the biggest clubs in the world, that opportunity to challenge yourself on one of the biggest stages in the world is probably also a factor.
Man utd would not appreciate a genius that did turn them around you have too many hangers on,the owners,ex players , current players ,the weight and expectation of history pulling the club apart, Ten Hag had a 51.8% win rate and was deemed unworthy. the Red Devils run a Dantian inferno.

Why go to a club that has seen so many try & fail (comparatively speaking) indicating that issues at the club run deep into executive management territory when for sure if he waits a couple of months something more appealing will come along.

OG has had a taste of what the UK media are like at Palace, he must realise that at a club like UTD the media focus will be magnified many times & particularly if results don't come because of decisions that are out of his hands he will undoubtably end up like his predecessors.

Amorin's departure highlighted that he was in effect relegated from being the manager to head coach where the senior and middle management were making decisions he thought should be his. And that although they spent a lot of money they didn't spend wisely in the areas he needed for his system, the only one he would play. (he has a ridiculous ego but is now very rich)

I think if Man Utd want a yes man who they can delegate to just coaching whichever players the club want to bring in then they would be heading for disaster with Oliver Glasner. He will seriously kick up a fuss on any and all matters that he believes are affecting the players.

If they want a Yes Man they just need to wait 6 months and then Rosenoir will be available 🤪
