Wilfried Zaha return

He clearly regrets his obviously incorrect choice. But that's life. We'll see him again but not as a player.
I still can't help but think "why the f*** go to Turkey?" Who advised that?
What's done is done - and him playing for us is done.
Agree - horrific career move.

The general narrative is that his brother (also his agent) was the one pushing the move, but you'd have to assume Wilf himself had the final say.

he got his goal of redemption and fulfilment at Old Trafford in the Champions League which probably made it all worthwhile

A palace legend but my feeling is he wants to distance himself from us judging by his interviews.

Besides this morale seems higher without the weight of wilf there.

We need to look forward not back this summer

I don't do social media. Did he post anything before he was door stopped? If not then I think we have our answer.

Must be pretty gutting. Left to win some stuff, has already been sacked off by 2 clubs, no playing walking football. All his old teammates have won an FA cup.

I really got that feeling aswell. I feel like he resents us in some way for keeping him so long and not letting him go to arsenal or everton.

Unlike Olise who showed up on Tuesday and so did ex players and managers.

Did Olise bring his Bundesliga POY award? He must be worth 150 million now

Didn't know he was at the game, but good that he wanted to congratulate all his old mates.

Has he got a soft spot for Palace or was he trying to persuade Eze to join him in Germany I wonder?

A bit like a divorce both parties should not dwell on the past,no good harping on about a return as he is too old and we have improved so much.
Agree about us having moved on.

Nonetheless, in the lead up to the Final I heard an interview with Coppell about Palace.
He said that Zaha was the best player he had ever seen in terms of the ability to beat an opponent from a standing start.
Quite an accolade.

I don't think he has the mercurial pace that he used to have, easily his pace was the foundation stone of all his achievements. If age doesn't matter we should go for Billy Wright,Stanley Matthews and Nat Lofthouse three of the very best i've ever seen.

I have to say I never saw Wilf as just a speed merchant.
He had pace, but not the searing pace of e.g a Bolassie.
I sit in the main stand and recall seeing Wilf on occasions boxed in by the touchline faced by three defenders and still emerging with the ball at his feet
It was more about his dazzling footwork and balance.
I still can't work out how he did it.

I have never thought that he just had pace,if you carefully re -read my post i said it was the foundation stone to his other skills. Still to old.
