I tend to agree with all the no's.

Objectively, if he was still a good prem standard player, he 'should' have been able to make an impact in the French and Turkish league.

However....he also failed at Utd and Cardiff before returning to us...maybe he can only perform at Palace?

Emotionally, I'd take him back, but Gala would have to rip up his contract. So we can sign him for freem on a short term contract for c.50k a week.

(even if he's sh1t, how exciting would it be to see him warming up to come on for that first time!)

I think he will be back in some capacity at some point. He might have a season left in him, but we won't pay silly wages.

What a sad, if predictable, end to a career. The auguries were not good as soon as he dallied with Turkey. Both a Palace legend and an unfulfilled talent at the same time. Which if you think about it is somewhat damning of Palace.

I didn't see a single clip here from any other club than Palace, which is telling.

I wish him well. He seems to be a polarizing soul and will either tear it up over there or replicate what has happened in France.

I know is powers were waining in his last season with us. But still fees odd that he's struggled to make any impact at Gala or Lyon.
