Who feels let down again

Another thread from a bedwetter, full of self entitlement.

The season is only 2 games in, against teams we haven't taken points off in years with all the so called stars that have left. Give Sage 8 games before you try to crucify him.

It took JPM a while to get going,many going for his juggler

Until he kept popping them in & throwing the arms & kicking the flag

Love to see Eddie or Jorgen step up yet I think maybe Gozo after 6 games finds his niche or we need a purchase if Munoz,JP is sold - Sarr needs 1 more season or up till Jan

Yet you are right it’s early days , yet he could be remarking about any thing ie Team,Club,purchases,new glass house,massive queues to get food & beverage

We have done this, time and time and time again.
Each time I think we have learned our lessons and surely wouldn't put ourselves into this position, we continously do.
I guess I should accept the fact this is clearly the Palace way.
 
I can't say I feel let down. Disappointed yes. But let down... this is Palace. We may well of had our moment in the sun.

I am convinced we will not go down. I just can't see that being allowed to happen and nothing suggests Parish and co would allow that to happen.

But you have to ask, when will we ever have a better chance to push on. If we go out with a whimper from Europe, with this team at the moment, what chance do we have to get back into Europe.

What is disappointing is that Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford etc have all pushed on and we have been around longer in the league. That is why I said awhile ago we always seem like the poor relation. Somebody had a bit of pop back about that comment but the fact is, we haven't pushed on at all. not a bit. We are the lowest spenders in the league. We have brought a load of players in that lets be honest, would they have been on anybodies list of wants?

We will be safe. We will be in our normal spot come the end of the season and we will all be saying the same s*** again this time next year.

Does any team's owner allow them to go down? I suppose the skint ones have little choice. Our MO has been to buy in January and or sack the manager. It seems the yanks don't want to take the hit and open their wallets a tiny bit.
 
It’s sad we’re losing our best players and bringing in freebies and loans, but let down?? No, we know what we are, good players leave us in the end, they get swollen heads and think they can do better, which generally they can.

We’re suffering from our own success now, I see it that at least we had these good players and a good team to enjoy while they were here, as the old saying goes, better to have loved and lost than never have loved at all.

Parish is the one running the club, we’ve got the easy bit sitting in our seats moaning for 90 minutes or just switching the TV on in some people’s case
So let down? Definitely not, maybe a bit disappointed, but it’s not like we haven’t been here before and it hasn’t even got that bad yet, we’re still in the premier league and we’ve still got a gaurenteed 8 games in Europe to look forward too, which added to last seasons total of European games is 25 more games in Europe than I thought I’d ever see us play
So I say take a bow mr parish and thanks for doing what none of us could do, run our club

Yes we do. It would be quite nice if others would stop repeating that we sold our best two CB's. People, we had no choice; if SP hadn't agreed to sell Guehi in January the player would've walked for free. As for Lacriox, that corrupt west London outfit came in and that was that because in reality it probably would have escalated into a Sarr/Mateta situation.
To those critising the incomings; for over a year we have all been clamouring for a back-up at RWB. Now, as Munoz has made it clear he wants out plus his performances have dipped alarmingly we have a solid (first impressions) replacement and a spanish cover with a good CV as cover, who also covers at LWB and across the back 3/4/5. Ok he was free, but exactly the same as Guehi would have been had SP waited. Then Tomiyasu, free but so what. He also let his contract wind down. Desasi; would some have been happier if we had spent 25/30 outright? What difference does it make if he has a one-year or a five-year contract? certainly for footballers these days the contract is, unfortuantely meaningless. I support the Gozo purchase but that is the only purchase for the forward areas not counting McNeil.
We cannot compete in the high altitude unless funds are raised via sales, even when those sales are forced upon us. Furthermore, a decision to sell must eventually come in any case because standing still is no solution for continued success. Just ask a goldfish.
The situation regarding performance is not new, we have been appaling since the beginning of December and only avoided the drop because we fluked wins against Brighton and Wolves. I would be very surprised if the club didn't make further signings before Tuesday 11pm but will they strengthen us? Who knows. All transfers are risky. There ws an analysis of Man City's signings ove the last 12/24 months and most have failed but the perverse side of that is that they have re-sold at a profit just like Chelsea. We cannot afford that way financially but let's not mention JSL & Johnson here.
let down? No. Angry, at the whole football way these days? Yes. Disappointed that we our time atthe table is probably already over? Yes.
I'm off now, I have team to train for a 4pm k.o.Under-16. And I have selection/formation problems.
 
If , and it is ,if, anyone is disappointed it’s Sage, he see,s his reputation, possibly his future prosperity on the line. Parish, everything he has built in the balance, the finances of the club being decimated if he hasn’t got it right . They might have grounds for disappointment . If anyone feels let down that’s for them . No one tried to let them down.

Like I wrote elsewhere Willo, i think we will struggle to win any match, but we have struggled for almost a year now in that regard. I don't say we won't win but it will be struggle for no other reason than we can't score

Most of us are. It feels so fake, tacky, gaudy and full of greed. Keep one jersey, maybe have a non clashing away kit, ban Ticketmaster and all tout sites, stop the VAR madness, what the f*** are the time wasting rules? A load of bollocks. All designed to give more to refs to help big sides. We can't upset the golden goose applecart. Have they not noticed how many Utd have played for quite a few years now.
Match day experience? I have a better time in the pub usually.

Calling someone a nonce for stating the truth is about your level.

Nobody has been let down, as they weren't promised anything. Continual negativity isn't healthy.

Without specifically checking, I think you will find that the Man City bench cost more than £200 million last night - Their squad value is up in the gazillions
 
Let down is far too harsh, considering the joy of the last 2 seasons. It does feel like we are undertaking too much change in one window and there’s a greater chance of us going down. Only time will tell.
I wouldn’t have sold Lacroix, told him he’s here another year.
 
to lose your best players to poaching from the Giants. That is normal, ok, its even a good thing since your top players are that good. Nobody wants the best players from Charlton.

i reiterate, our new-player-recruitment is not fit for purpose. Dougie Freedman has his fingerprints on the all the silverware that Glasner got for us. And the new clowns in the office will have their fingerprints on our relegation - not Mr Sage.

Watching Forest v Liverpool worries me that Forest are so much better than us at the moment. I do feel for Sage as surely he won't be happy with his best players being sold without him being able to do anything about it. Feel it's going to be a long season, why do we always make it so difficult for ourselves.
