Maybe already mentioned (I've not read the whole thread) but the moon, generally.
The same surface of the moon is visible from earth all day around, day in day out. So we never see "the dark side of the moon" from earth.
Supposedly the moon influences tides and therefore harvest seasons (think of the Nile Delta) and by inference life on earth itself.
Also it is supposedly 400 times smaller than the sun. But 400 times closer to earth than the sun is. Hence why currently eclipses make it look like the sun and the moon are the same size as viewed from earth.
No conspiracy theory as such - just wonder at what a magnificent place the universe is and curiosity about how little "science" really teaches us. Do we know more or not? And have we in the past known more or not? Interesting questions, at least to me.
