What a load of old sh*t.
You could say that Everton were lucky that we hit the post twice instead of scoring or that Ipswich were lucky that the ball fell to their only player in the box (Fleming) in the last minute, or Leeds were lucky that we never beat them as we were the better team and we unluckily had a goal ruled offside by about half an inch.
So far over this season , all luck being equal, we could easily have an extra couple of points, if we were a bit more lucky 😀

As others have said, luck changed the game more than anything else.
As incredible as Benetiz was, they should have scored two or three before we got one. Obviously, in most games there are chances and half chances at either end before a goal goes in, but this was different. These were unreal sitters that Forest missed, and they had about three of them. We were far luckier than most teams who survive the odd scare before scoring themselves. This was bordering on unbelievable.
We then got lucky that the first one fell to Kamada as it did, that the second one wasn't saved and that VAR, for once, didn't stick it's f***ing beak in. Then we got lucky that they hit the post from close range. Then our third was pretty lucky as well in the way the ball fell to Pino!
Of course, football includes luck most weeks. We could have scored from Larsen at 0-1, and the team made its own luck to a degree in the second half. Still, most neutral reports found it incredible that Forest went into the break behind rather than out of sight. They probably can't believe they lost.
I should think Fulham felt much the same. Looking back at Mitchell's goal in that game I can understand that. That's two wins, both very lucky.
I'll take whatever luck Palace can get, but it's still worth noting when you've got away with a performance that would see you lose most weeks. They say its better to be lucky than good, but that's bollocks. Luck runs out far sooner.
The beauty of all of this is that it is buying Sage some time he might not have otherwise. He has been given a very difficult (impossible?) task to replace Glasner, integrate a hugely changed (I still think weakened) squad, coach a team to cohesion in a preseason when half of them weren't even there, and do it all in a new league and a second language. If he is to succeed then he needs to have a bit of grace, wriggle room, and not be in the pressure-cooker all the time. Lucky wins or not, the points have got us to our spiritual home of 12th from which he is surely far more free to carry on working as he wants to.
It was a massive win, and we might come to see ourselves owing Lady Luck our gratitude for more than just the three points.
