He looks like a player that will score, particularly if crosses come in. He got two in a game we still lost.

He has got talent , his record before joining us he can score in double figures , strange how Johnson is part of our goal scoring wows that everyone forgets our midfield gave us very very little goal scoring return , but lets blame Johnson , he covered for munoz and didn't do that bad , he is a player in confidence crisis , He gets that back then he may show us what he can do , nobody wanted Mateta to play for same reasons ,

So new broom may sweep changes in him , way to early to ditch him on half a season

his biggest asset is clearly his pace. In the championship he used this to his advantage, not really beating defenders but outrunning them.

In the prem defenders are faster and teams rarely play such a high line. This has highlighted the shortcomings in his game.

Whilst our Sarr is not dissimilar - he needs space to run into - he has adapted his game and works really hard. His defensive ability is often under appreciated as is his heading ability.

Johnson needs to follow Sarr's example.

I’d wager the vast majority of Palace fans have. He’s useless. The Forest and Spurs fans openly spoke about this on their forums only for some idiot (Hobbs?) to spunk £35,000,000 on him. Probably the worst piece of business in our recent history.

To be fair, fans of both those clubs liked him as well, and he did the business for both of those clubs. He's had half a bad season at Spurs followed by half a bad season here. It's still just one off-season.

Hopefully he can turn it around and justify his price tag. He's had it in him in the past. I'm not saying he will, or even that I expect it, just that he should be able.

It bothers me Johnson's successes came in a lower league and playing Angeball; that puts me in mind of Edouarde although he was doing both at once rather than one after the other. Admittedly Edouarde did have a purple patch but that was playing number 9 amidst Wilf, Olise and Eze.

If he becomes another Sorloth, as in we sell him for double the purchase price, I'm all for it. Sorloth did not impress me at the WC and I think he would have struggled elsewhere in the PL. Maybe a move abroad would be good for Johnson. Cymru Premier is probably his level

I suppose the only hope is that somehow Sage will enable him to regain his confidence so that he'll do a half-decent job. Even that would be a miracle IMHO.
PS. I'm one of those who would accept £18m for him and take it on the chin and move on (but not before firing the wally who persuaded Parish to sign him.

With regard to your penultimate paragraph perhaps Burnham should use that Nietzsche philosophy as a slogan rather that his 'hope' statement!

That’s not correct. The Forest fans were dubious and couldn’t believe the money they got for him and the Spurs fans in their droves were offering to drive him across the River to us. If you’ve got the time and the inclination look back at their fans forum and you will see it as clear as day.

Johnson has been good, but he ain't now, we spent a lot of money on a punt that his form could be rekindled, the Wolves bloke Dougie replacement got it badly wrong, 20 odd games of diddly squat, I hope he can turn it round, same with Nketiah, Franca and Doucoure, but if just two of them can produce that will be a great result.

He was spurs top scorer and europa cup winner , so dont know we're you get the idea he has only done it in lower lge

Yes, I would probably take the kick if it was me. It would look bad on us as a club, and it would effect our financial situation negatively regarding FFP or whatever it's called these days, but it probably makes sense in the situation. The thing I'm trying to stress is, he does have a lot better in his locker, but we haven't seen it at our club. I don't know if we ever will or not.

I pushed for his signing six months before we ended up signing him. I was pleased we got him at the time that we did, and a lot of others were pleased at the time. He didn't live up to expectations (understatement). That is over a few months though.

I've known from interaction outside of the web that some fans of both have liked him.

It was one of the reasons why I was after him for us six months before we got him. All anecdotal I know, but I have mentioned it here before.

No fanbase is a homogeneous blob, I'm sure that is well clear from other interactions.

I was always dubious (still am) because every club he's been at was happy to sell him.
