I said it when we signed him, if we play to his strengths then yes.

He has exceptional pace and good finishing. But he cannot beat a man apart from pace knocking it past someone and his crossing is inconsistent.

If we get Thomas Frank Johnson will be gone. Frank is a defensive coach and we will be playing low block football.

Hopefully we sign Iraola
 
Johnson appeared to be a very good young player at Forest.
Rapid, with an eye for goal and an accurate finisher.
A lot of big clubs looked at him and he got his move to Spurs.
While he didn't reproduce his Forest form at Spurs, his goal record wasn't bad.

It could be that he's one of those highly rated young players that never achieve their potential and we will bear the brunt of that.
Nobody's fault in particular, it just doesn't happen for the player.

Johnson scored 16 league goals for Nottm Forest in the Championship season 2020-21 helping them to promotion to the PL.
Apart from a season at Tottenham when he scored 11 PL goals in 33 matches, his goal return in the top flight is far from impressive.

I recognised him for his searing pace, his quick feet and ability to run in behind defences.
At our club he has been an abject disappointment and I suspect there will be no wailing if he moves to 'Pastures new'.
Perhaps under new management we will witness a rejuvenated player.

his biggest asset is clearly his pace. In the championship he used this to his advantage, not really beating defenders but outrunning them.

In the prem defenders are faster and teams rarely play such a high line. This has highlighted the shortcomings in his game.

Whilst our Sarr is not dissimilar - he needs space to run into - he has adapted his game and works really hard. His defensive ability is often under appreciated as is his heading ability.

Johnson needs to follow Sarr's example.
 
He's been so unbelievably bad, so wholly anonymous, that many of us have delved into complex theories about formations and positions and Glasner's inflexibility just to try and explain it. I know I have. The only other plausible explanation is that he's a member of the public who won a competition to play for Palace.

I'd be more than pleasantly surprised if Sage got a tune out of him, I'd be astonished. As things stand he's hands down the worst signing in our history. He's so bad that we barely mention the bloke alongside him who cost up to £48m and got four goals in 22 games.
 
He has got talent , his record before joining us he can score in double figures , strange how Johnson is part of our goal scoring wows that everyone forgets our midfield gave us very very little goal scoring return , but lets blame Johnson , he covered for munoz and didn't do that bad , he is a player in confidence crisis , He gets that back then he may show us what he can do , nobody wanted Mateta to play for same reasons ,

So new broom may sweep changes in him , way to early to ditch him on half a season

and that is saying something. We have spunked a ton of money on a ton of 'just give them another chance' players.

Whereas Dougie brought Olise in from Reading FC.
