The European Court of Human Rights blocked his extradition to the USA were he is wanted for various terrorist activities. THE ECHR repeatedly protects terrorists and other grisly criminals of all kinds. The UK should break all ties to this grotesque parody of a court.

Me too. The 'uncontrolled' part of me has always thought that if somebody goes on to commit a crime, that the person responsible for their release faces the same subsequent punishment, getting double the punishment if the offender absconds. Should focus the mind, but it's never going to happen...

I specifically didn't say judges, just the person responsible for the release into society of the subsequent reoffender.

I think the difference here is that the mass murderer was held under mental health conditions rather than just standard murdering terrorist conditions.
