US Politics

Which of these are in any way equivalent to US school shootings?

And yes, just because something is illegal doesn’t stop it happening full stop. But it does make it far less prevalent and far less commonplace.

Will also never get why you anti-abortion weirdos seem to care more about 12 week old embryos than actual 12 year old children.
The UK allows abortion to 24 weeks, this is a baby at 24 weeks

I used the abortion as an example of leftist mind set. A popular argument of pro abortion is that if you make it illegally then women will just find alternative illegal ways. But yet they don't think people will find illegal ways of getting guns.
Some will for sure but they won’t be able to walk into a hardware store and buy one off the shelf. If you have ever actually witnessed how easy it is in the USA to purchase a gun then you too might reflect how dangerous this is. I get that the USA is much larger than the UK so that in rural environments, where law enforcement may be an hour away, protecting yourself becomes necessary, but not in urban environments there and not here, anywhere.

Both are equal in my eyes. Each to their own and whatever helps you sleep at night.

No one said it was genius.

In fact the very point that the scale was different was made more than once.

However it took your clumsy argumentation to make a rather unsensitve remark that was easily exposed.

Stabbings by your protected classes being rife in this country.....and Southport hurting all right thinking people.

Ian Huntley, or the stabbers of young kids from Southport or Parnell St, Dublin ? Not only would i watch the State-sanctioned offing, i would buy popcorn & 3D Glasses to get a better view.
Who the person being executed, or the crime they have been found guilty of, are not the issue.

It’s the impact on society that is. The values, ethics and morals it demonstrates to our children and the possibility of causing anxiety to the vulnerable. It’s not necessary and reducing such a very serious event to video game entertainment level would be a stain on all of us.

Anyone showing support really need to step back and give themselves a quiet mental health check over.

I find it amusing that someone who accuses people on this forum as getting their points from right wingers in America comes right out with the classic leftist US pro abortion point......and it's always been an incredibly crass point anyway.

I mean to compare flushing the unborn child into waste disposal with attitudes to 12 year old children who no right wingers are trying to kill anyway is about as bone headed as they come.

But that won't stop Dan trotting it out.....So caring Dan.

Trump blocks the US sanctions on Russia, named after Lindsay Graham. Trump says it’s in the US national interests. Was it in US interests to cut off Ukraines defensive capability’s this week? This can only give Putin more reason to continue pounding Ukraine, which means the only real chance of this war ending is if Ukraine surrenders its sovereignty ,and allows its self to be controlled by Putin. Europe including the U.K is fully supportive of Ukraine in its battle to rid itself of its invader not wanting that outcome.
So is it in the interest of the US to keep working against the obvious interests of its natural allies? Or does it just act as another nail in the alliance we thought we had.?

Unless and until you are able to discern truth from fiction you will not be able to understand how flawed your attitude is.

A 12 week old foetus is not an unborn child. It is a 12 week old foetus.

That’s not to, in any way, denigrate the emotional attachment and excitement that prospective parents can feel. Those emotions and excitement not being felt by all prospective parents though.

Abortion is always awful. It should be avoided whenever possible. Sometimes though least worse options must be taken, in many circumstances in life. This being one of them.

I will give you a dilemma to consider. If not at the point of viability, or for a 12 week foetus, where is the cut off point?

Someone who has had a successful IVF treatment will usually have several embryos in frozen storage as backup, should the first attempt fail. Should she be expected to have each implanted, or, in your opinion is it morally ok for them to be destroyed?

This point is a non sequiter.....it's just not how any outcome plays out.

I mean, have you looked at a map of Ukraine? Four years and Russia holds about twenty two percent of it.

Alliance? Did someone put Ukraine in Nato?

Again, your point doesn't relate to the reality of what's happening.

The Ukraine-Russia war was enabled very much by US state policy and it will be ended via the same.

The US have been keeping the war going (despite the properganda) and once the intelligene and money tap is turned off a negotiation can be reached.

Zelensky will try to keep the money tap on anyway he can.....he is in a very poor position. Europe's politicans are now expected to use even more borrowed money to continue this.....borrowed money that they aren't personally on the hook for.

Virtue signalling that has justified my high energy bills for a losing war doesn't make the slightist bit of difference.

You are evil.

You don't even know what a woman is so you can't really comment on biology or expect anyone to take you seriously.

Again...The US are not at war with Russia.

I don't really hold a position on IVF as I've never thought about it.

I held the classic limited pro choice position until I had to think about it once we had a baby on the way.

After which abortion filled me with absolute horror.....especially once I looked into what's done.

Also own a handgun you are trained to use.

Not a military assault weapon designed to kill every motherf+cker in the room.
