Complete and utter bs! Of course it’s about Trump but there is no hypocrisy involved in welcoming anything that helps to counter the effect of this man. Religious or not.

The Pope is regarded by Catholics as their saviour’s representative on earth. Not mine or yours for sure but by a huge constituency of important voters. That matters.

The Pope has no political position. That the Church he represents cares about the poor doesn’t make him a leftist! What a nonsensical idea.

I am pleased to see him speaking out. Not just to Catholics but to all Christians and those of us whose moral grounding was founded on Christian belief. Pointing out the need to stand up to, and call out, immorality is showing leadership.

I hope the Christians in US politics pause for thought. Vance has just converted to Catholicism. How he reacts will be telling.

As to the way the Iranian regime responded to protesters Popes have criticised the regime but I suspect they think long and hard before doing so, to avoid making things worse. Quiet diplomacy at meetings between faith leaders may be seen as more productive than worldwide headlines. Which isn’t the case with Trump.

The involvement of the Trump campaign in 2016 with Russia is an established fact that resulted in successful prosecutions. Trump managed to avoid legal consequences himself by Barr ruling that a sitting President cannot be prosecuted. He avoided prosecutions again in 2024 in the same way. He wasn’t “exonerated” by Mueller, despite his repeated assertions that he was.

So who is really deluded?

People are jumping off the train as quickly as they can, every time it lurches around a bend looking for the next disaster and trying to avoid the points which send it into the siding called Epstein. From which there is no escape. The time to jump off is now!

The school bombing is incontestable.

I think there may have been an obvious fib spread that it was a misfired Iran missile or images from WWII or some other obvious fiction of the type used by Israel while they were flattening Gaza. However they have now moved on to fill the news feed with other stuff until people forget.

Which sadly they will.

And then folk will say: wasn't that a misfired Iran missile?

I’m certain he didn’t do it personally but he is the C o C of the military that did.

Threatening to destroy civilian infrastructure is banned under the Geneva Conventions. You don’t have to actually do it to be in breach. Trump is legitimising despots with such behaviour. He is a disgrace and to call it out is a moral requirement placed on every right thinking person.

It’s delusional not to do so.
