US Politics

Of course she was protesting, then trying to drive away from aggressive behaviour. Both of which were entirely within her rights to do. There was no obstruction. The guy touched the car. Not the other way. That he then slipped was his fault. That he then decided to use his gun to kill was totally unacceptable.

Trying to defend the indefensible does you no credit at all. It just makes you look ridiculous.

Lies from the liar.

You’re such a mud slinger, Wisbech.

It seems to me when the USA had a democratic party the left loved authoritarian polices; covid lockdowns etc and the right were for free speech and anti authoritarian polices.

Now they have a Republican party the left are for free speech and standing up to authority.
The right are now supporting a authoritarian government.

America have had to do something about illegals. But in many cases the agents are over stepping the mark and enjoying the power they have been given.

The case of the woman being shot looks to me as a case of over stepping the mark. The video is in no way conclusive. I wonder though, how he managed to fire off shots instead of jumping out the way.

Ha ha ha. Sums up the BBS exactly, a complete echo chamber of far left radicals. Why are we not surprised you've come from there with your extreme culture war bullshit.

I am sure there is some middle ground where we can all put our egos down and have a good chat.

If a person from the left and right ticked many of those boxes; then they would in my opinion be pretty sad.

While we fight each other the elites are laughing at us. Debate is good; but these are not debates.

I am as guilty as many others on here of partisan politics. But if we don't start finding common ground and realising that the cult want division; then we are f...k##

I agree 🙂

Yeah I noticed.

Slagging off the poor on benefits while taking their rent money.
Hardly. I recognise and support the provision of benefits to the genuinely poor. Which one of my tenants certainly is, having been shafted out of all her money by her family. She is in her 80s.

My gripe is with those who could work, but choose not to, and prefer to live on the benefits they can squeeze out of the system. When there is something that most people can do this is not acceptable to me. If they need top up support or help in retraining or finding jobs then fine, but doing nothing isn’t. The elderly need companionship and help around their homes. The lonely need phone calls. Councils need litter pickers. Rather than sitting in front of screens all day those who can, should.

I don’t recall any anti-Semantic posts, but would if I did see one.

I recall many claims that a comment was anti-Semitic but was actually anti the current Israeli government or one of its members. Which is a completely different thing.
There have been a couple of posters who were most definitely were anti semetic. Steeley is anti Jew, have you called him out? Shame you havent read any of them

Kindly explain the logic for that assertion, because it makes no sense to me.

My properties are all rented to locals at affordable rents via the local council. I am part of the solution rather than the problem.
That’s fine but isn’t the argument, from locals, about second home owners, that they are inflating prices so locals cannot afford to buy? Have you offered any local the chance to buy one of your properties at an affordable price?

Ok, so you really dislike the opinions on this site.

So why are you here? You have a site that represents you, it's the bbs..... It's freaking weird you spend your time whining on here. This is where right wing opinions get representation, your mates over at the bbs ban the right wing....and you're over here whining at us.

You're a lefty over here reading our posts. We aren't sadeos hanging out at the bbs reading their posts.

I'm starting to form the suspicion that the real reason you hang out here is because you know that if you spent your time on the bbs you wouldn't stand out nor would you particularly like the main posters over there either.

As Nick and others from Hol found out themselves. The right is far more tolerant of opinions opposite to their own......and the left take advantage of that due to their low character.

I rent out my old house. With higher taxes and interest rates we don't make much if any money from it. Obviously if the house increases in value we might.

I'd rather see Wisbech was renting out to people than Blackrock - who seem to be hoovering up every avaliable home and renting it out.

They don't debate, aside from Silver they run away from debating because most of them aren't very good at it and get continually rinsed.

Lies from the liar.
The most comprehensive, detailed, minute by minute account of that incident can be found here. It’s factual and suggests that Renée Good wasn’t even intending to protest. If, after reading this, you still think that she was killed in self defence then my only conclusion will be that you must be off your rocker:-

I could obviously be wrong but personally I suspect that Steely is fibbing about being a Muslim and just does it for a wind up.

I don't know many Muslims who support the English cricket team.

I believe, the demographic who are highest percent wise on that metric are Muslims.

What do you think should be done about those deemed fit to work but who are....in your view abusing the system?

The answer to your second question is yes, but there is a problem with the property. One that exists for many properties of a certain age here. It’s built of mundic. Which is concrete made from mining waste. It’s unmortgageable as unless it has been clad properly it tends to crack when wet. It was in a poor state when I bought it and I clad it with insulated rendering. It’s now warm and dry, but still can only be sold for cash. Which most potential buyers, other than
landlords, don’t have.

The second home problem is very real, especially in the seaside villages. My property is in an inland town, not a tourist spot.

I agree but y question still stands. Posted this before reading the above reply

I have just completed my first year as a landlord and just did my taxes for last year. You are right after the increase in interest rate and higher taxes I'm not left with much. I'm pretty much breaking even.

But I guess I'm looking at it as investment now and I'll see the benefits when the mortgage on it is paid off and I retire and it's some extra income. I guess when I retire in 30 odd years there probably won't even be a state pension 🤣
