the FBI still being quite cagey with details, but they apparently have a good idea who the shooter is (edit: that lead was invalid, so they still don't have an idea who the shooter is). Nothing being released to the press , until they have to.
I have no experience of firearms, unlike Ouzo Dan, but my thoughts on the type of shot differ, as I was factoring the fear factor for someone taking a shot to kill a human for the first time. The suspect walks with what appears to be a limp in the CCTV footage, but this could equally be put down to them 5hltting themselves with nerves.
I guess the FBI must be throwing huge resources at catching the guy. Funny how it always seems to be a fluke incident that reveals the location, like "a dog walker", rather than revealing details of how the FBI search was being conducted.
I think we're all speculating based on probabilities and likelihoods based on our own experience.
If the shooter has gone to ground, it's really only a matter of time before the FBI catch them. If they've managed to put a good distance between themselves and the crime scene, that makes it trickier. I'm of the age where I still remember Nazi's from WW2 taking refuge in places like Argentina and South America was also good for Ronnie Biggs, the Great train robber.
If the shooter has a paymaster, they'll be wanting them dead too.
