You are so myopic that it’s a wonder you can see enough to type this bs!If only the UK had a prime minister that loved his country the way Trump loves his. The contrast in Trump's first 3 weeks in office compared with two tier kiers 6/7 months is almost night and day.
You have a president who carried out most of his election promises and galvanized the US and most of the world and a prime minister who has broken nearly of his promises and has locked up and alienated half the nation and has become a laughing stock to the rest of the world.
Trump no more loves his country than he loves you. He loves the sound of his own voice and being loved by the gullible, but nothing beyond that. It’s all just an act.
Keeping promises that are stupid doesn’t change the fact that they are stupid. Making stupid promises is what populists do to get elected. Keeping them is what stupid Presidents do after they elected. Trump is very stupid.
The job of any political leader is not to give people what they want. It’s to give people what they need and then explain why.
That’s what Starmer is doing. He knows very well that many of the things they have started to do were going to be unpopular and receive criticism, especially in the tabloids. He also knows that with a big majority he can do it. The problems arrive in 2029 when Labour have to defend their record and face the usual issue of being the incumbent government actually doing things and not just making criticisms and promises. They are likely to be helped by the Tories and Reform scrapping for the same voters and hurt by the LibDems looking stronger. Coalition probable.
