US Politics

Self awareness alert. You are describing yourself.

I don't think illegal immigrants should be entitled to anything. They should not be there.
The law should apply to citizens of the country concerned.
Illegals should consider themselves lucky if they are not taken out to sea and dumped overboard.

Your priorities are seriously messed up. Trump does not pander to criminals, unlike you.
I am not! I am describing you.

I don’t think anyone thinks illegal immigrants should be there. There are though many who feel that every developed society needs to be open to recognising that some oppressed people deserve asylum.

In any respectable society, especially one which has a legitimate claim to be the most successful ever, every human being has a reasonable expectation to be treated according to their law. Treating people as less than human is what slave owners did.

The idea that you think that desperate people should consider themselves lucky not to be murdered is disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself.

In this scenario the only one pandering to criminals is Trump. He is surrounded by them.

Don't lecture me about morality. You defend rapists and child molesters.

Asylum seekers are not illegal immigrants. You are talking out of your arse as usual. There is a process for asylum which does not include entering a country, disappearing into the city and getting involved in organised crime.

I couldn't care less about people who enter my country and contribute nothing but crime. America is not my problem, but it is Trump's, and he isn't hell bent on destroying the country by having it over run by scumbags, unlike Biden and the other self serving filth that you champion.

As a citizen I would expect that but I do not expect a non-citizen in my country who had literally broken into the country to have the same benefits. I have certain rights as a result of being British; these are not transferable and should not be given to anybody who does not enter the country via official channels.
Undocumented migrants don’t posses the same benefits as citizens but they are entitled to some protections, as stated in the US constitution. Which refers to “persons” within the borders, not to citizens.

And this is suddenly a big concern of yours?

And the people who actually pay taxes and expect their streets to be safe don't matter?

They are rhetorical questions. We already know your priorities.

Please withdraw that libellous comment. I have never, and would never, do any such thing.

Illegal immigrants can subsequently apply for asylum in the USA, just as they can here. You need to sit on your arse to quieten it rather than concern yourself with mine.

Not a chance.

For anyone who thinks that not enough is being done to counter the downward spiral into authoritarianism in the USA might be reassured by watching this interview by Joanna Coles, of the Daily Beast, of Steve Schmidt. Schmidt is a former Republican strategist and founder of the Lincoln project who is now implacably opposed to Trump and everything he represents.

This far ranging, provocative interview forecasts how the Trump era will end, that many of those in the administration will go to jail, Vance, Miller, Gabbard and Bondi included and, most importantly that US democracy will survive and rise again. It’s refreshing and hopeful. It also advises the King not to dignity Trump by going to the USA this year.

Somehow I doubt whether too many of those who defend Trump, and describe anyone who opposes the megalomaniac in the White House as having TDS, possess the guts to actually watch it.

You don’t like Trump, the ‘establishment’ don’t like Trump, and a percentage of the US electorate don’t like Trump, yet he was democratically elected, a process that you have continually reminded us is where we delegate decision making to the elected representatives. Trump is doing that, and the US electorate have an occasion to rectify that at the next election.
If you are saying that the electorate made the wrong decision and that ‘something’ needs to be done to stop Trump, what would you suggest? And what would you suggest we should do in the UK to remove the most unpopular Labour government?

Wisbech thinks that democracy is OK right up until his side loses.

Politicians and Judges must make decisions on our behalf until they make ones he doesn’t like.

It’s just an endless self absorbed psychotic rant of blinkered claptrap from him.
A great study for a psychologist.

We elected a parliament. The USA elect both a President AND a Congress, whose powers are separated and co-equal. They don’t elect either a King or a Dictator. Both President and Congress are bound by the Constitution but only Congress can change it.

Trump is not respecting that. He is acting in ways which are both unconstitutional and unlawful. Right now both the House and the Senate are controlled by Republicans who are scared of upsetting Trump, because should anyone challenge him he then puts up others to challenge them. That should change at the mid terms. Unless Trump tries to cancel them, as he is threatening to do. More illegality.

So it has nothing at all to do with the right of the people to choose whoever they want. It only has to do with that person doing their job within the law and with respect for the constitution.

Exactly the same applies here. Any Government that acted illegally would doubtless face a vote of confidence which they would fail, so a new one would be installed. Our MPs, whoever they represent, would not tolerate illegality.

Don’t be so frigging stupid. Politicians and Judges, just like everyone else, are bound by the law. They cannot make unlawful decisions. Whether you, or I, happen to agree with them is irrelevant.

It isn’t a rant. Or claptrap. It’s a simple statement of fact.

Politicians decided to have a lawful referendum on Brexit.
You argued for months that the result was invalid because politicians are not delegates.
You are full of s***.
