Australia stopped it. Greece are stopping it.
Yes they are and good for them. There is no political will to do anything about in our major parties. They could stop criminal immigration and massively reduce non-criminal immigration within weeks if they chose to.

So all ok on here then although do you not mean the far right which you use often and is it the same as hard right !
There’s a thin border between the two which is difficult to precisely define but is transgressed here in some comments. Some seem to be offended by being described as far right but comfortable with hard right when in many cases both fit.

Different situations.

Australia has offshore processing and detention centres and a policy of returning boats containing undocumented migrants to where they came from. Such options are not available to us.

Greece has temporarily paused processing asylum seekers and is detaining undocumented migrants. The pause will end and has met much criticism.

We can have detention centres.

Stop the free stuff. All of it.

Actually have a deterrent. Stop the gimmicks that won’t do anything, pretty much because Labour are okay with it all.

Send them to Rwanda. Do it.

Greece has met much criticism? Who bloody cares? I said that politicians cared more about any criticism than actually dealing with it. You disagreed, now you’ve said it yourself.

We do have detention centres. For criminals. Asylum seekers aren’t criminals so go to reception centres. The amount of support given is enough to survive, calculated to avoid the desperate turning to crime. No one travels thousands of miles, at great cost, just for that. They come for the chance of a better life. Finding deterrents sounds easy, but actually isn’t. If people still come knowing many don’t survive what’s going to stop them.

The Greek situation won’t last because they care about their reputation, even if you don’t. Breaking international treaties has consequences.

They are illegal immigrants. The clue is in the description. Most of them are economic migrants. Always were, while the usual lot claimed they’re refugees.

What are you talking about many don’t survive? Almost all of them survive, and are helped by the RNLI and Border Control.

Many don’t want them because we have no idea who they are because they’re hiding who they are. I agree. But I go further like many others who don’t want them anyway because of their different cultures, attitudes to us and women and children in particular. Then there is the replacement of British and Europeans with these people and complete mess.

You are the problem just as much as they are.

Yes, Greece should be punished for not wanting endless, ridiculous migration forced upon it and its people. Why have a government or democracy when the EU can force you to do things no one wants to do. Why should Greece, or anyone else, be obliged to take people they don't want? Coerced and forced to take people against their wishes - and against the common good of their own people. Ludicrous situation.

They are illegal until they apply for, or are refused, asylum. Whilst being processed they are not and become our responsibility.

The loss of life of those coming across the Mediterranean is huge. Who knows how many perish on some of the other routes. The smugglers won’t care or report it.

Confirming their identities and their stories is why the process is so time consuming. Finding ways to shorten this and to quickly deny all who are obviously economic migrants makes sense. Families with children are more likely to be genuine than single guys, imo.

Why is being realistic and honest a problem? Everyone wants to see an end to illegal immigration. It’s how to achieve it without trampling on our treaty obligations and destroying our reputation that’s the real issue.

They were being overwhelmed at specific points so have adopted a temporary solution. They aren’t likely to be the desired final destination are they, but rather a transit point. A revised plan will be found.

Remember Wilf? Ivory Coast born who moved over to south London as a toddler and came up through the youth system to essentially carry us in the Premier League for a decade?

Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Parents from DR Congo but Croydon born. That £50 million essentially built the new youth academy and training ground.

Victor Moses, from another refugee family, growing up in Croydon and going to Whitgift and his transfer fee helping us stay afloat.

Steve Parish embracing ‘south London and proud’ with Wilf, Sean Scannell, and Jonny Williams on a billboard as our early identifier and differentiator in his ownership to show that this is *our* part of London and what makes us ‘us’.

The HF with members of all sorts of backgrounds and very representative of the local area now globally recognised as one of the best fan bases not just in this country, but the world, with the support and tifos. Not even Wembley, but week in and week out.

But yeah, other than that, what has multiculturalism ever done for Palace?
Excellent points but how many rapists, groomers, knife attackers, drug dealers etc. do we have to accept to get a professional football player?

Including processing people through Nauru which is the same distance as from the UK to Turkey.

Absolute nonsense

Yep, express buses straight to Calais, passing through how many safe countries?
