US Politics

I'm not really sure what this has to do with my post on Tesla's flailing share price, but sure...

Musk is unpopular outside of the US, it's not really specific to left-wingers - your average middle-England conservative is not generally a fan either.

You have a lot more admiration for Musk's 'achievements' than I do, but I certainly don't recall him ever being 'treated like a king' until he became Trump's little side kick.

Hollywood....which is essentially a 'progressive fiefdom'....used Musk as inspiration for the initial 'Iron Man' movies. He played himself as an extra in the 2nd film.
To quote Grok, 'individuals involved in the Iron Man films have confirmed that Elon Musk was a significant inspiration for the portrayal of Tony Stark, particularly Robert Downey Jr.’s interpretation of the character'.

Tesla, don't do DEI nor care about some of the ruinous ideologies that other companies have followed for the last decade. It's enabled them to hover up some of the smartest young minds in America. This dip in their fortunes if built almost entirely upon emotional politic feeling. The products to come will ensure that the sensible will be making a lot of money long term.

Musk is obviously not popular with most of the left wing around the world....though I think the left wing are responsible for most human decline in the west....which is why China is such an economic beast rivaling it (again, doesn't follow stupid self harming social policies).

Despite this Musk has achieved, in practical terms, probably more in his lifetime to help the human race than the combined efforts of all his critics....certainly most of them. When he was on the left they were treating him like a king.

But they encouraged his son to go trans and.....Well, that one thing might be the butterfly effect that ends their hegemony.
How do you know this, and who are “they”?

No one “goes” tran! You either are or you aren’t. All that’s happened in recent years is that those that are have been given the advice and support they need to make informed decisions rather than fight themselves on their own. A nephew of mine committed suicide because of his unhappiness caused by what, with hindsight, was very likely this issue. A grandson was given advice and support and is now happily living as a tran, loved by their family and studying for a PhD after which they will doubtless make a good contribution to the world.

Musk has certainly let this get under his skin and upend his political philosophy. Which is a major character flaw.

Not if the path being followed leads to recession, harm at home and chaos elsewhere.

You don’t need 4 minutes to judge Trump. He has form, is unrepentant and quite possibly unhinged.

Nobody knows where the path will lead – apart from you, apparently! Perhaps it's wise to wait and see instead of beaking off?

Never heard that before - interesting!

Not when they will be selling the Tesla. I haven’t checked but I bet the second hand value of a Tesla has markedly decreased in recent months.

Google gives the following reasons.
  • Tesla's Price Cuts:
Tesla's frequent price reductions on new models have directly impacted the resale value of used Teslas. When new cars become more affordable, used car prices tend to drop as well.

  • Increased Competition:
The EV market has become more competitive, with a wider range of electric vehicles from both established and new manufacturers. This increased supply of EVs has also put downward pressure on prices.

  • Elon Musk Backlash:
Some Tesla owners have reportedly been selling their cars due to a backlash against Elon Musk's leadership and business decisions, further contributing to the increased supply of used Teslas on the market.

  • Inventory Levels:
The supply of used Teslas has been increasing, particularly in the UK, as more dealerships add them to their inventory. This influx of inventory has also contributed to the price declines.
