US Owners Exploring Sale

I was reading an article earlier highlighting a piece from a Colombia Business School study about off balance sheet lending in the States using higher risk ratings than would be allowed if it was a regulated business. Apollo and Blackrock were two funds mentioned.

Isn’t this an annual event ?

They consider selling …can’t find anybody that will pay the premium they want for shares …..and nothing happens.
These rumours have been around before. My guess is it's mainly negotiating with Woody for a full takeover. Price will be the sticking point. Plus, they'll want either their loans back - or guarantees over those loans.
I'm expecting a Woody takeover. I was very suspicious of this with our January outlay. Seemed to come from nowhere.

Yes, I agree, this seems to be what everything points to.

The only way to have success at the top in football is for your club to be a money whore.

Man City is the truth about football......the successful clubs will be those with owners who are committed and rich enough to run on significant losses every year.

If you want to have morals and like football.....then in truth then it's league one and lower.

This isint news btw. There is plenty of reports of them putting up their shares for sale since 2019.

I asked grok to list them:

Sports Illustrated / 90min (March 9, 2019) — Clear summary that the American owners put the club up for sale after three years, hired PJT Partners, and had contacted potential buyers. Includes context on the club’s performance and revenues.

Crossing Broad (March 9, 2019) — Philly-focused piece quoting the breaking news, noting Harris and Blitzer retained PJT Partners to sell the club. Discusses their ownership since ~2015/16 and broader context.

The Philadelphia Inquirer (March 8, 2019) — Bloomberg-sourced report on Harris and Blitzer seeking to sell after about three years, talks with a U.S. financial firm, and retaining PJT Partners.

Funny you say that, they have been turning a profit every season for roughly ten years now, and hardly any clubs do at either end of the table.

We have on a few occasions too.

All three of those are within a day of each other. I'm sure it has happened across the years, but those are all the same one event listed.

Personally I would believe those stats as far as I could throw them.
I mean, it comes from Deloitte. The reason most clubs get themselves into a hole is from spending debt, which City haven't been doing, unlike United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal as the main offenders in that order.
