Uefa Conference League

What the hell is it ? Will our relegation down to the Conference be a true kick in the head or a blessing in disguise ? surely we can win the whole thing ? And then qualify for the Europa League the following year ? Easier than winning an FA cup ?
will European football impinge upon our Domestic League performance ? If the Conference League is unimportant, why did previous winners always look so pleased with themselves ?
Would we have taken a place in the Conference league with relish , had it been offered to us before our FA cup win ?
What are the implications for our financials & recruitment of top players ?

If its a mickey mouse league, do we give it the same respect as the Carabou Cup ? play the kids and laugh when we get eliminated ?

discuss. All matters of the Conference League ( with the exception of our justified anger toward all those crooks who speak french...do that on the other HOL-thread ).

I remember Simon Jordan said something along the lines of say we go all the way and win it it's almost the same financially as if we reach the knockouts in the Europa.

I'm not fussed either way what competition we play in. I'd love to win the conference and then go into Europa and continue to finish 12th in the league.

Also we can rest players more in the conference league, whereas in the Europa we would have to play a full strength side every game.

My guess is we are stuck in the Europa Conference League, and lose in the qualifying round. So one game of European football.

Learning from Grumpymort 😄
That would be so palace after all the fuss 🤣

But surely not, honestly some of the teams in it haven’t even got 4 sided grounds, and are lucky if they get 1000 people in for their league games, part time as well

But I’m happy to be in it, there’s still some well known teams in it, Fiorintina, AEK Athens, Rosenberg, Hajduk Split,AZ Alkmaar, and Dundee United 🤣

me too. As a long-term Eagle, this is still better than we have ever managed before, ever. So yes, i share the sour grapes about the Europa League....but i also remember us looking back over our shoulder at Championship relegation ( down to League One).
Does anybody know if the Conference is televised much ?

If you mean TNT(bt) then no, not really. ECL/EL take preference even on a Thursday There is someone called 'Solid Sport' who are also showing games.

Any of them as good as Crawley?

My only concern is our distinct lack of transfer activity strengthening the squad.. It's all very well saying we can win the Conference League (which we can) but it's going to be a very long season and we certainly don't have the strength in depth at the moment.

On a side note I have booked a hotel already for 3 nights in Leipzig for next May on Booking.com should we get to the Final.. It's only £160 with free cancellation if we don't make it! 😂😂

Bear bones til January then see if we're still in it.

THat reminds me I need to cancel the Istanbul hotel I booked for the Europa League final 😅

I for one am hoping for a shamrock rovers or shelbourne tie.

Doubt I'd get a ticket in the away end even with my 7500 points 🤣

Seems easy enough to buy a ticket in the home ends tho 🙊

According to their website TNT are showing all the UEFA Conference games live across their channels - including the knock out stages and the final.

He did. And his argument was that he expected us to get knocked out in the early knockout rounds of the Europa League if we get in.

So for that reason, I now really hope he get in and shove it up his arse be going into the latter stages.

Frankly, as we have already proven, we can beat any side on our day and there's no reason we couldn't go further. Especially given that the two finalists last year we finished above!
