Trump announces plan to hit UK, Denmark and other European countries with extra tariffs over Greenland

The EU and the ECHR are seperate and not related. One of the strongest supporters of the Convention was Churchill himself.
That was long before it morphed into what it is now.

Actually, it's not, but never mind. People will have to find something else to froth at the mouth about.

I sometimes think people have deliberate ignorance over some things as it is the only way to justify their narratives in their own minds.

The former is a technicality and not the point and the latter, if I remember correctly misses out the important fact that Churchill didn't support it for us......As he never saw us as being subject to it.

You are correct Dan.

I mean, i am deeply ignorant on the 57 different gender definitions that Keir wishes me to know about. Also on the finer points of Palestinian culture, language & celebrities. And i also cannot remember the names of all the urban youth stabbed in Croydon last year.

Now, Trump. Greenland. What price would HOL-Eagles be happy for Trump to pay ? for the big orange baby to be happy with his new snowy toy ? That he Quits and hands the reigns over to Vance ? that he stops fighting with the Somalians ? that he gives Ukraine support to the EU ? other ?

I think that's Heinz. There are hundreds of genders these days. That most are just fantasy sexual desires seems to mean little. I only want to f*** sexy women but unfortunately have to put up with what I get. No doubt, that's a gender too. Oh yes, being a man - he/him or whatever it is these days.

The Lisbon Treaty is a little after though.

Bringing up Churchill as a supporter for the modern day EU or international instruments, always needs pushback as it always misses out the context of that time.

Churchill did not see Britain as subject to these institutions and saw them as positive insomuch as they related to mainland Europe after the war.....Which didn't include us because we had our own systems.

I remember it from Brexit discussions, article 6(2) made it a legal requirement for the EU to join ECHR, it's taken a long time but it's happening now.
