i would love it if Trump decided to take Greenland AND Ireland. As would 40 million irish american voters. No matter how bad the new regime, couldn't possibly be as bad as the current setup*.

It’s a major diversion. Headline grabbing by an attention seeking narcissist who is desperate to keep the bad news away.
The USA achieving all they need is easily achieved by quite straightforward forward negotiation. US bases exist in many places, and there is already one in Greenland. Building more doesn’t require new treaties. They already exist. There’s lots of room. Mineral concessions would be as easy to obtain.
There is no logical need for ownership. This being Trump though just about anything is possible.
I know Farage bullying the poor conservatives.
One of the reasons I am increasingly wary about this entire situation is because of this unity. I am seeing Right-Wing types. who make me look like some wishy-washy Soc.libs up in arms about this and promoting quite literally a pan-European resistance. There is almost zero defence for Trump's pontificating which is making little sense.
He is not going to seize it by military force because it would literally potentially trigger a generational conflict. And why is Greenland that important now? Had never featured on any kind of political radar before beyond Left-wing types berating Denmark for being some kind of imperial bogeyman (strange how they are quiet about this now).
This is all one huge distraction. Now away from what not really got a clue beyond my earlier Russian tin-foil hattery.
Although to be fair we live in a world in which Crystal Palace win the FA cup, only to be then knocked out of the following year's competition by a team six leagues below them? Maybe this is just the Great Simulation going f***ing nuts?
