The Judge has determined the case, based on the law which gives the accused every opportunity to explain themselves. You either trust our system or you don’t. I do.

There has been an independent review. It’s called a court case. Appeals are permitted.

If any have mental health issues then their defence team should have raised them at trial. They now have the opportunity to appeal and/or be assessed whilst inside.

Why should I comment on the number of foreign prisoners? Have their numbers suddenly increased?

It’s the prison service’s job to keep him safe. The last thing they need is to be held responsible for him becoming a martyr. The government cannot risk the consequences.

No Governor will relish the need to allocate the resources to achieve that but will have to do it. He will probably be watched by a team day and night.

There was certainly a need to make examples in order to ensure it stopped.

No one was pressured. It was their choice to accept the terms on offer or reject them.

They can also now appeal if they believe they were mistreated.
