There's a lot of shyte songs from McCartney, Mull of Kintyre and Hey Jude to name but a few. Elton John and Stevie Wonder can stop laughing at the back of the class as well.

Those three don't seem to be able to self censor. I expect Mozart wrote a few ponies as well but had the common sense to throw them away. 😀

I will confess that the content of the video confuses the hell out of me. Russian commie beauty defects to the West to be with fat old man who owns a red Rolls Royce & stupid sunglasses ? and they all lived happily ever after ? she would be majorly irked after the 1989 Wall came down and all her buddies were getting on with their lives with alacrity.

Every year we have to endure Elton John’s Christmas single. Fecking shyte.

All Christmas songs other than the Poges and Phil Spector's Gift are kak.

And Queen and Bon Jovi occupy the 7th layer of Hell.

Good grief Penfold there's so many.

Considering we are moving into winter proper soon with energy bills rising higher I'll nominate a song that we could consider advice for cutting your heating bill but which bored me rigid every time I heard it.....which was far too frequently for my liking as a lad out and about in 85.....the abomination that is 'Move Closer' by ugly girl Phyllis Nelson.

it is the measure of shyte Classical music when nobody hums it from any advert....not car ads ( Vivaldi ), not Old Spice Aftershave ( Karl Orff ), not British airways ( Delibes Lakme ), not chocolate ads ( the nutcracker suite ) , not Perfume, not Hamlet cigars ( Bach, air on a g string), McDonalds ( Puccini ) ......

‘Sleigh Ride Together With You’ done by The Ronettes isn’t bad and Blondie’s single is better than lots of the rest.

I expect Queen to have a big following on the BBS. ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ is pretty good for its energy but most of the rest is shyte.

On the latter (specifically for now), I do not understand the female gender. Women go out and you play that party hell, or 9-to-5 and the floor fills. Utter bilge. As a guilty pleasure, I think I Will Survive is pretty good. But those two... ugh!

If ever there was a band that started out well and then...

If you deduct the needless and painful cover of Downtown, Planet Claire is a post punk masterpiece. John Lennon said that Rock Lobster made him take up song writing again. And then they forgot all that made them brilliant.

If I am listening to radio for background and I hear B52s I get a moment of excitement... and then reality... and then depression as Love Shack inevitably airs.

Like Shiny Happy People for REM which, not coincidentally, has the same female vocalist.

The worst thing about them is that they are original, all accomplished musicians, singers and songwriters and the production values are second to none. But the sound is like taking a cheese grater to the cochlea.

All songs earn a fat zero out of 10 save Crazy Little Thing (which gets only one) as, on that, Mercury mercifully opts for 50s vocal homage rather than his normal cod opera; and May spares us his tortured screeching guitar solo.
