The Shyte music thread

Yeah but how many times did you dance to it with some bird at the end of the night? A custom never to be seen again.

I can just about remember that I found myself drunkenly snogging some chubby wildebeest one night and forever afterwards avoided the 'last turkey remaining' dances.

Besides, I had the dancing skills of someone undergoing an epileptic fit.

Probably not the right place for this wonderful parody of the Mud song, but it deserves an airing so I've lobbed it on here.........

I'd better not say much on the grounds that I'm probably featuring on a similar thread on Mumsnet at the moment: Yuletide mistakes or The Drunkest I've Ever Been or something with all posts featuring a string of emojis. Still. Happy days.

The worst thing about them is that they are original, all accomplished musicians, singers and songwriters and the production values are second to none. But the sound is like taking a cheese grater to the cochlea.

All songs earn a fat zero out of 10 save Crazy Little Thing (which gets only one) as, on that, Mercury mercifully opts for 50s vocal homage rather than his normal cod opera; and May spares us his tortured screeching guitar solo.
I hate May’s guitar solos.

Mariah Carey's XMAS offering has me running for cover:

Then for pure Party music hell, there is the following that should've been put to the sword at the earliest opportunity:

I know Mariah Carey is known for being a complete diva and a nightmare, but in this video I get the urge and would love to……

I think it might be because she agreed to perform free vocals for a version of ‘Dreamlover’ by David Morales that turned out to be one of the biggest dance tracks of its time. It is completely different to the original and needed the lyrics to be recorded again and she agreed.

I don’t like her music but I was once on a bus and this girl from probably The Brit School sung one of her solo hits from start to finish. At the start everyone felt a bit uncomfortable but by the end everyone gave her a huge applause. Remaking Fame in South London is a good idea for tv or film thinking about it.

I appreciate Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston had great talent and vocal ranges even though I don’t like their music.

Better than the ongoing remake of The Warriors anyway.

Remake of The Warriors? When is this out?

I quite like the new Day of The Jackal series with Eddie Redmayne surprisingly pulling off the role of hired assassin. Watched episodes 1-7. Waiting for episode 10 this Thursday to watch 8,9,10 in one go. They’ve recreated it really with a few similar bits like the melon and when I watched episode 7 I was surprised it wasn’t ended there and there’s 3 more to go.

I meant the ongoing situation in the streets but there was a sequel, or prequel anyway, made a couple of years ago. Don't know where it's on though. Maybe on Apple.
