The Caring Left

People over 66 and some others do not pay NI contributions but receive NHS treatment free of charge. Much of NHS funding comes from general taxation anyway.
Saying that the private school should pay is like saying that a private dentist, that you have a regular payment plan with, should pay a NHS dentist you happen to go to for some reason.
Huh?
It’s not complicated. If the school has already been paid for the education of that child, then they should provide the service paid for. If the school has an issue with that, your beef is with the school.

It’s still not clear what your answer is to my question about people choosing, or not, to be part of the NHS.

It’s not complicated. The hospital is denying sick children a service because of politically motivated vindictiveness - cheered on by people of the Far-Left and not so Far-Left. It is nonsense to suggest that the school should pay – should they pay parents who do a bit of home tutoring?
Not clear? Everybody pays taxes, they have no control over how it is spent, they can’t opt out of paying taxes.

A spurious argument. Just silly.

If the school has not provided tuition and provided it instantly, then that is the disgrace. The parents have been conned.

Yes, everyone pays taxes but I'm not absolutely sure you want people to be taxed. Or at least to be taxed for hardly anything. The question remains: do yo agree with the notion of the NHS or not? Blimey, like blood from a stone lol.

The Conservative Manifesto for the 1945 General Election contained almost identical proposals to those of Labour for a Health Service, so there would have been.
What they said they were going to do is one thing, as you well know. It was a Labour government who brought it into being. End of.

It’s not a spurious argument at all, silly to say that it is.
I don’t want people to be over-taxed like we are. I want taxes spent well - governments are generally incapable of spending wisely and efficiently. I don’t want us to be over-governed as we are. I would like to see massive cuts in government and taxation.
Yes, I agree with the notion of a health service – how it can be run better and deliver better outcomes is open to debate. Some European models that have a mix of public and private provisions seem to perform much better than we do. The Left of course will not consider any change as they are shackled to their dogma.

Well it's not "end of" is it. Comrade Steeleye said there would not have been a health service without the Left.

"The health services of the country will be made available to all citizens. Everyone will contribute to the cost, and no one will be denied the attention, the treatment or the appliances he requires because he cannot afford them.
We propose to create a comprehensive health service covering the whole range of medical treatment from the general practitioner to the specialist, and from the hospital to convalescence and rehabilitation; and to introduce legislation for this purpose in the new Parliament." [1945 Conservative Manifesto]

With a changing demographic, the country needs a discussion about the NHS, what it provides, to whom and how it provides it. This is clear. The discussion we have needs to be unshackled by mud-slinging.

Your absolute hatred of anyone with any left leanings whatsoever, makes you, I'm afraid, just totally biased.

Like I wrote, what they said they were going to do......

But your 'absolute hatred' [your words] of anyone who disagrees with most Left views does not make you 'just totally biased' [your words again]?

Children in a NHS hospital in Scotland, including cancer patients, are being refused a free education on the wards because they attend private schools. Parents have been told to pay £115 an hour for the one-to-one tutoring that state-school children receive for free. This for children whose parents have paid taxes that supposedly funds their treatment in hospital. The Left continue to plumb new depths in callousness.
You seem to be suggesting that 'The Left' is a single hospital in Scotland.

Callous!

Not at all. This thread is merely about this example of the Left in action.
How so? Who made this decision, and why is that person representative of 'the left' in it's entirety?

If we conservatively estimate there are a few million on the left in the UK - this single hospital making a decision that nobody had any visibility on is representative of all of those people - that's your argument?

If it's furry, barks and pees up lamp posts, it's usually a dog.

Never do I express hatred of those who disagree. What I disagree with is the total packaging of 'Looney left' to anyone who has different views and when someone says something as fact when it really is not backed up with anything, just to suit their views in what is, essentially, an echo chamber on here. Cosy, yes......

Why do you keep saying it's an echo chamber when I would say half the posters on this thread share your worldview?
