The best TV shows of all time ranked...

I watched the first episode then fell asleep during the second so I suppose that I will have to watch it again

To be honest you did well starting back to back episodes, I like it, but one episode at a time is enough for me, it’s a slow old plod most of the time

I watched John Wick 4 last night a bit predictable most of the way but a fairly solid conclusion. a pop pop bang bang generation but for all that the best film in the series.Without a big reveal ,I expect applications for concierge positions might drop off.

I was worn out just watching that, nearly 3 hours of relentless carnage 😀

Superb stuff, loved the Rockford files when I was a kid, I’ve acquired every episode of starsky and hutch recently on dvd which I’ll be working my way through soon
A lot of those old 1970s Cop TV shows were great with some of them standing the test of time better than others. Kojak, Starsky & Hutch, Cannon, Petrocelli, Banacek, Cagney & Lacey, McCloud, Quincy Etc.
There is a guy who lives down the street from me who collects these old 1970s cars including the green NYPD green cop car & Frank Cannon's Lincoln Continental

This country is brilliant.
My youngest watches ‘this country’ and ‘motherland’ all the time. Mainly for the swearing.

Motherland is another good call, Anna maxwell Martin is brilliant

You’re spot on about the 70’s cop shows, so much good stuff, Colombo as well

The guy down your street is not Jeremy Clarkson is it? 😀 I believe he kept a Lincoln continental from the grand tour, he mentioned it was Frank cannons car(not the exact one)

I'm pretty sure that Petrocelli's building firm have done some work for me.
I used to like Robert Blake in Baretta and my favourite was Hill Street Blues.

Just watched the latest series of strike, nothing too original and very slow paced, but I’ve always liked it, Holly Grainger is always so watchable as well😇
She certainly is, which reminds me of my all-time favorite, Both series of The Capture, "deepfake" and "correction" are certainly part of the world today

If it was the same one the suspension would have been seriously knackered.

Back to the original list, some seriously good stuff in there, a few I haven't seen and a few that are OK at best.

Mrs Maisel is the one obvious omission for me within the criteria they appear to have applied.

However, as others have said, US-centric and only Twin Peaks (too low) representing the fully pre 2000 category.

Thus, for the US, no Lonesome Dove, Shogun (the one with Richard Chamberlain), Centennial, Twilight Zone, NYPD Blue, Hill Street Blues, or Washington: Behind Closed Doors (just the ones I can think of).

From us, no I Claudius, Jewel in the Crown, Edge of Darkness, Fawlty Towers, Brideshead or State of Play (again, just the ones I can think of).

And what of kids shows like Sesame Street, Blue Peter and The Teletubbies?

Or the Simpsons?

This is the one. Some early episodes written by Steve Bochco and some directed by Steven Spielberg. A-listers queued to be the baddy.

Where does this come from and who was asked? I wouldn't disagree with some of the selections but there doesn't appear to be much from the 20th century, which would suggest that the opinions of people over a certain age weren't included.

Currently watching Mr Inbetween Australian crime, comedy series. They do make some good stuff the Aussie's. Like foreign war films. Pick of the bunch, White Tiger, Sacrifice, White Raven among others. Back in the day Auf Weidersein Pet, as a kid Worzel Gummage scared the s*** out of me.

Mr. In Between was excellent and created a properly rounded character out of what could have been a stereotypical cut out. It was a bit over the top on occasion but some of the episodes had real emotional depth and it could be funny too.
Everybody should give it a go.
