in my defence, i would show the Court a video clip of a speech of a fella saying i don't need to pay my tv license. A speech With all the words spliced together from thousand hours of his previous speeches. A speech by Donald Trump.

You wouldn’t. It would be ruled inadmissible as it would be both irrelevant and clearly false.

There’s a huge difference between using clips from a speech to make a particular point in the context of a documentary, which was never claimed to be anything else, and presenting facts in a Court.

It might have been what you said, but with, perhaps, a large amount of sarcasm running through it.

Nevertheless if it is truly the case that you believe that those who support the BBC are patriots and those don’t aren’t then well done! You are suggesting what I have long believed. That there are many faux patriots these days, wrapping themselves up in Union Flags, who actually hate much of what our country is.

I have not “talked up” Cornish nationalism! I have described it. I have commented on how some here would like the same status as Wales or Scotland whilst others seek more devolved responsibilities. I don’t recall ever expressing my own opinion. I don’t really have one. I am not Cornish. I just live in Cornwall.

A nation is what exists now. Not a romantic vision of what someone decided to write in a history book.

Not been to Telford for 30 years and no reason to visit any part of the West Midlands these days. So I’ll take your word that it’s changed. Whether it’s a dump though I guess depends on personal perceptions and preferences.
