The comments come after 50 more people make fresh claims about the TV presenter.

Odd thing for Baroness Helena Kennedy to say though. If that is his defence surely he's entitled to say it. Whether people believe that is another matter.

Talk about bite the hand that feeds you. I have never seen her programmes but according to this article she was an unknown who won a TV show and the the BBC made her a "star" for 10 years. Everyone has a shelf life but instead of saying "thanks for all the fish" she decides that the BBC is racist.

According to the article her programmes have good viewing figures so why cancel them?

Speculation on my part but there are many reasons why you would would cancel a "successful" programme.

1. The programme gets decent figures but is expensive to make so cost versus viewers is not economic. This is why ITV is slashing Loose Women, it's too expensive for the viewing figures.

2. The programme has run it's natural course so rather than watch it decline cancel it now.

3. The BBC has decided it has enough cookery programmes and wants to spend the budget on something different so she drew the short straw. This happens a lot in the entertainment world.

4. Pure speculation but perhaps she is a disaster (attitude) waiting to happen so with her contact running out a good time to get rid of her before something really does happen.

5. She came from nowhere and has very little talent the BBC feel it's time to give somebody else a go.

So the Independent thinks it was a great thing because it highlighted a Somalian muslim woman, hmmmm, I suppose better use of public money than giving it to Gerry Admas because you're an incompetent shite news organisation or giving money to Hamas government officials etc etc

Ruthless business. She has had a longer run than most largely, I suspect, because of the very reason she is alluding to.

GB News has really improved since it started. It was very amateur to begin with. The way it appeared on screen, camerawork, production and editing were very poor. It’s really brushed up its act in that respect. It will report on things BBC and Sky etc hide and it always has someone with an opposing view to the right of the host as you look at the screen. You never get that on BBC and Sky. No wonder it’s growing. People don’t want the controlled narrative.

I don't think he's that interesting a game show presenter. He's certainly no Bruce Forsyth or Bob Monkhouse so I guess it will be how interesting the actual show is.

My predictions it will be from meh to flop.

Surely you mean things that the BBC don’t, using their impartial judgement, decide aren’t newsworthy. Whilst GBNews openly support Reform and Farage in their editorial approach.

The contrast is obvious. GB News is unapologetically political. The BBC is not. I don’t watch Sky.
