The bbc, again.

Bloke is a prat trying desperately to make a name for himself.

Whilst I agree with the first part of your quote I disagree with the second as he is a very popular TV presenter who has made a name for himself through his TV programs and has no need to "desperately try to make a name for himself"

Meanwhile, some "Administrative Issues", come to light

Presenter Clive Myrie has apologised for failing to declare to the BBC at least £145,000 of earnings from engagements outside of the corporation.

Under BBC rules, presenters must reveal what they earn on an external events register, which is published by the corporation every quarter.
That's just a slight oversight. Who'd notice an extra £145,000?

I'm sure he's a very engaging and interesting bloke but what does he do on these engagements? Read out some news reports? Act as host for pub quizzes? Pole dance?

Oh, I see how easy it is to forget these other bits of work, when you're juggling jobs just to make ends meet.

"Two other BBC presenters have also declared retrospective earnings on the latest register.
Lucy Hockings earned at least £5,000 for one job as a moderator, and Jonny Dymond earned at least £1,000 for two engagements as a host and interviewer." (BBC website)

Myrie's backdated stuff goes back to 2021. I wonder what will show up on future declarations ?

it’s easily done. Not BBC, but remember Nadhim Zahawi,

Went to put in a couple more slices of toast and forgot that instead he accidentally gave his dad 40% of the shares in an offshore trust.

The person I feel sorry for in this whole
BBC scandal is Claire Balding. All these allegations and not one has propositioned her*

*actually I don’t feel sorry for her as I was at the 2007 BDO darts final which she was presenting and described the crowd as “not her kind of people” off camera, followed by chavvy scum. I nearly put on my Kappa tracksuit and left in disgust.

I wouldn't mind betting that I'm older than you. Apart from Masterchef which I don't watch he fronted an interesting program where he visits food factories and watches food and sweets etc being made
Yes, I forgot that programme. It made me feel good inside as stuff was actually still made in Britain. He was likeable in that. He seemed genuinely curious and interested.

Wallace came across as being good at his job. Apparently complaints are now coming out that were made about him up to 10 years ago, and they were not actioned.
I was drawing an analogy with recent work I did on a building site this year. Long gone are the days of wolf-whistling ladies walking past the workers, or making inappropriate/suggestive remarks.
If I, or any other workers on site, had been anything less than totally professional with 'totty' 🙂 we would have had a warning, and if it happened again, we'd be looking for work elsewhere. It wouldn't have mattered how good we were at plastering or scaffolding.

Some of these TV types think they are irreplaceable. That is clearly not the case

Show business cliche.

The ones who seem nice on camera aren't off screen. The ones who come across as grumpy or a bit nasty are often the opposite.

I have mentioned before that a friend works in TV and knows Eamon Holmes and his wife. Forget the Irish charm apparently neither are nice human beings away from the camera. Of course since Holmes left ITV and has had spats with Scholfield at al the mask has slipped a bit.

By all accounts there was no weeping or wailing from the ITV crew when they heard he was going.

The BBC is a cesspit of secrets, coverups and lies, it should have the revenue given by the general public removed, and has to stand on its own two feet, as every other broadcasting business does.
Jimmy Saville, Rolf Harris, Jonathon King, Stuart Hall etc, how many more.

Nah

The BBC is being picked on by the media, it's not their fault that all the sex scandals happen to them. 😕

Also “Eat Well for Less” which he cohosted. That was a good programme.
He is a first class knob though

If his mask has slipped he should demand a refund from the cosmetic surgeon. Surprised he can still move his mouth ( unfortunately)
