The 1861 nonsense

Which one was Sport? My grandad told me his grandad would sit there all game just waiting for an update
 
I have to be honest. I couldn't care less about this.

If the club want to claim that the name Crystal Palace itself justifies the new date without any administrative link, then that is fine. It doesn't mean that others have to accept it.

I see it more as an honorary link as much as anything else. The name along with the representation of the area, the relocated Crystal Palace exhibition and the FA Cup history merits some recognition that only we can claim. Why not claim it, even if it does not link directly to 1905.

The idea that the historical and current team are eternally connected will become 'the truth' if we say it enough times.

Just online at ebay. They actually do loads. Quite pricey, but given the occasion a nice momento.

Speaking of which you could also try clive tyldesley notes if you want a reasonably ish priced framed arty type item. Genuinely interesting even though he didn't commentate on the game.

we are 1861. And we can even print T shirts to honestly declare that we robbed the name from an Old dead football club. Who cares ?

imagine if there were 2 clubs called 'West Bromwich Albion' or 'Sheffield Wednesday'......an old dead one and a new. Nobody cares about stupid paperwork.....except maybe for the Seaweed, and they can feckoff.
