The Bromley v West Brom game was at Ferreiras stadium (Estadio de Nora).
The Algarve Stadium is mainly used for pre-season tours (I went to Flamengo v Sporting Lausanne last week), or youth team tournaments as far as I'm aware.
Torreense who won the Portuguese cup, may have to play their home Europa League fixtures at Algarve Stadium as their ground doesn't meet UEFA regulations. Praying we draw them, it's only 5 mins from my house.

I have also heard this from a mate in Val Do Lobo. That would be some draw for us….Palace, golf and Villamoura harbor full of 5,000 Palace!

An impressive transformation of the stadium and surrounds and of course their rise from Non-league to Division One in recent seasons is worthy of praise. Jolly well done to Andy Woodman and others at the club for the transformation on and off the pitch.
I am informed that Bromley have signed 7 players in this 'Window' and perhaps some, if not all, will feature against us.

I'm watching the Forest v Blackburn match from there now.
The result doesn't matter, its all about getting fitness levels up, testing formations and looking at squad players in a match environment. People seem to take it too seriously.

Agreed. The only pre-season match that will have some relevance is the last one against Freiburg. Why? Because that will be the first match in which we'll have most if not all of our 1st team squad available and even then Sage will have had hardly any time with several of them (I'm thinking Pino. Henderson and if they're still here, Mateta and Lacroix)

Agreed. A potential plus of the Bromley game is whether any of our fringe or Academy players play well enough to suggest they might have developed sufficiently to get some or more game time this season. A better test for them, though, will be the Como Cup and subsequently who starts for, and which subs get on for, the Freiburg game.

Ultimately, yes, the result doesn't matter, but there are a few players whose future at Palace is somewhat uncertain, and, be it a friendly or not, need to step up and at least show some intent and catch the eye. I'm thinking of the likes Rak-Sakyi, who surely has to deliver soon if Palace are going to keep him; Esse who has done little to indicate he will be more than a bench warmer ; Johnson, who to date has been a huge disappointment; Franca , who at least made a case for himself with his hat-trick last week, but needs to show that was not a flash in the pan.
As it stands, there are few first teamers who will be looking over their shoulders with concern about being usurped by the fringe players.
Can't do any harm to have a positive record going into the season, either. Momentum is a big thing in the game, as is morale.
