Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

A comment that largely rubs up against most other neutral observers who think our recruitment has been exceptional as against our budget.
Indeed. Especially in the recent few seasons.

Eze, Guehi, Olise, Wharton, Munoz, Lacroix, Mateta, Hughes, Sarr, Henderson, Richards, Doucoure, Mitchell.

Not bad at all.

disagree that is not a good move.

I would rather have Joe as the number 3.

We need to stop having players just sit around.
Putting my trust in the club on this one. I see your point but what if the club have seen the development of Goodman and Whitworth and believe rather than playing u21s or sitting on the bench it is better they both get 1 more season out on loan to develop. I am sure if you ask Hendo he will tell you how glad he was to go out on loan

We renewed his contract. We'd have to pay it up.
I always heard the club gave him a 1 year extension before he went on loan, in order to sell him & that ended this year. Taransfermarkt seems to agree, perhaps Doombear can let us know . . .

I dont see why we should sell any players we don't have to, So Guehi and Eze this summer, if Guehi will not sign a new contract, and Eze if his release clause is matched and he wants to go, no more, whatever the player wants.
Summer 2026, Mateta and Muñoz.
Summer 2027, Wharton, negotiate a pay rise, but no change in contract, unless ridiculous money is offered, which to me, with 4 years left on contract, is 130m+ GBP

I think Eze and Guehi will both depart this summer. Hopefully we'll hold onto JPM for another year, but his form has simply been too good for anyone looking for a new Striker (ManU or Arse?) to ignore, There could be some silly bids flying round, domestically and from abroad.

Eze is the most Spursy player we own. He's somewhat of a luxury player who'll fit right into to their bunch of sublime-one-day-invisible-the-next team of misfits. I can see Spurs going all out to get him - but I really hope if he does go, he goes elsewhere. He needs to play in a team that befits him. Not sure who that is.
Wharton won't leave, he needs a bit more development imho. but someone may try to get him on the cheap because of that (rather than wait for him to reach an inevitable 100m pricetag!).

As for replacements;
We've been nursing/grooming/(and praying for) Franca to fill the Eze role. we also have Esse waiting for an Opportunity in the wings.
Nketiah, Devenney and with Mustapha performing well in the youth setup if JPM leaves
Riad has surely got to be eyed to slip into Guehi's position, lets hope he can get and stay fit.

So buying ready made replacements may not happen. Although we still look light at CB, LWB, and a striker if JPM does go. Would love to see someone step up from the academy, but we all know that rarely happens.

I can't see any marquee signings, but I'd imagine we'd try to strengthen by nicking players from relegated clubs, or some lesser known foreigner. Replacements need to hit the ground running, and in OG's system that means understanding the system - as we saw at the beginning of this season, so much better to promote those already in it than buy in. The question is whether OG thinks any are ready to step up.
i'm hoping only MG goes this summer.

I love them both but Eze and Wharton have both had injury interrupted seasons which has impacted performances.
Eze has hit the woodwork loads of times but ultimately has only 4 league goals - i wonder if he will be our new Zaha, a player everyone admires but is not sure where he would fit in their line up and have concerns over consistency.
Both would take massive bids so clubs may look elsewhere. Wharton probably needs another full season with us.

I am a bit worried about Mateta as he has rejected a new contract and there is a limited pool of decent prem level strikers around. He would be a massive loss.

It will be an interesting summer, especially if we win the FA Cup.

I always heard the club gave him a 1 year extension before he went on loan, in order to sell him & that ended this year. Taransfermarkt seems to agree, perhaps Doombear can let us know . . .

His original contract was up to June this year, so the 1 year extension means we have to suffer him for one more season unless we can offload him somehow.

I suspect Glasner has washed his hands of him as I can imagine Edouard reacting badly to OG's training regime and demands about playing for the team etc..

If it was up to me, I'd give him away to any club that wanted him and, if necessary, offer to pay part of his wages for the next 12 months just to get rid of him.
