Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

Our current No 2, Matt Turner is on Loan until the end of this season.
It is the model of plausibility that he will depart and Joe Whitworth installed as back-up to Henderson.
Time will tell.
Goodman over Whitworth for me. Whilst both had good seasons, physically Goodman looks better equipped for premier league. Like to see Whitworth have season in the championship and see if he can kick on further

Why to people want big physical keepers? Clubs don't. Henderson, maybe tall(ish), but he is very slim, in other words, agile, athletic. Look at most keepers around, well apart from Onana, they are generally the same.

Yes, Goodman is 'bigger' than Whitworth, but, is not as agile(imo) & yes, I I have watched both. I hope both go back out on loan next season in a higher league. Both will not benefit being our non playing No3.

Give me JP any day ahead of Rashford. JP is not only a great striker who scored a great goal yesterday but also he is the power of Palace. Whatever we may be thinking for Rashford just give it to JP when the time comes. Simple.
We wouldn't pay his extortionate wages. He is one of the best players around on his day but he's too inconsistent (and also too injury prone). I think with Doucoure and Riad coming back for next season, we look strong if we can keep everyone. I hope we go back for Hadji-Diouff (or whatever his name is) again and maybe a back-up right back too.

Much has been made by Glasner of the closeness of our group of players ,that they all look after each other . Rashford , decent enough player that he is when he wants to be would ruin all that . He has the potential of turning a club challenging for Europe into relegation candidates ,if he can do it at Man poo he can do it anywhere , its why they bombed him out .

I don't want him unless he's had an attitude transplant.
I will say, however, I agreed with his school meal stuff. But that's an aside.

We have seen the resurgence of importance of set plays recently. The better keepers can dominate physically or at least hold their own. When I have seen Whitworth struggles on that front.

I am not saying we need a monster in goal but a 6 foot keeper is small nowadays

That would cover pretty much every Manure player.

Having looked at a Man U fansite they'd rather have Charles Hawtrey than Onana.

The deal for Andre Onana, signed from Inter Milan was a fee which could rise to nigh on £48 Mill.
He has had his issues between the sticks and the No 2 Altay Bayindir has not impressed either.Bayindir is 6ft 6in but is not that proficient handling crosses for his height.

We need a left back who can actually cross the ball and doesn’t panic every time he crosses the halfway line. Ty is a great defender, but to get to the next level we need another Munoz
Sessegnon just scored his 4th goal in very limited appearances at Fulham. Can't remember if we just couldn't agree terms or whether neither party was interested after his pre-season training with Palace but looks like one got away there

Before we start looking for new players i would like us to offer new contracts, to Mateta, Muñoz, Richards and Lerma
Munoz has just signed an extension, Richards and Mateta have contracts until 2027 (so 2 years left) and i think Lerma (who is the oldest at 30) has another year, and the club has an option of a further year.

So i think we are reasonably well covered there.

Obviously Mateta is probably the most immediate concern as he has supposedly rejected a new contract and is attracting interest from other clubs. He will be 28 in the summer - a contract extension on improved wages to say 2028 might be a reasonable compromise for all parties.
