Starmer..what a joke on the world stage

you have a short memory - what damage has Brexit done to our global respect (remember Cameron being blanked at G7/Nato gatherings) , what impact did Boris's lying and Sunak's inability to attend the D day commemorations have, Truss's 40 odd days as PM etc.
So in your opinion , Starmer's actions are mitigated by the behaviour of previous events?

So another brexshitter type only thinking of themselves in the moment

Such a patriot

Meanwhile, Starmer has led the country to find the right balance. He's becoming a great PM.
A great PM???

That's laughable.

Probably,the worst in living memory:

Internationally, I don't find Starmer too bad. He could have been far firmer on the Chagos Island deal. But he dealt with Trump ok. He's doing ok with international relations in general. There doesn't seem to be a large negative effect of his deals with the EU. I wouldn't completely agree with all of his foreign policy but it's no different to what the Tories would have done.
Domestically, however, Starmer is poor. He hasn't "got the balance right" at home. His image is poor, his decisions don't go down well - even with his own supporters. Nothing seems planned or costed, if it is it changes anyway. There has been clear political interference in crime with bizarre sentencing. The economy is not good, prices remain high and rising. And someone needs to take on the looney immigration judges. That could be Starmer but I suspect they're his mates.
But, he's generally not that different to the Tories. He isn't helping the working class - that's for sure.

I wonder who will inherit Labours mess in 4 years time
My only feeling on that is that this country was taken to its lowest point since possibly WWII. If Labour fail to turn us round. I suspect the next move could be terminal. That’s if that condition hasn’t already set in.

There's nobody out there, irrespective of political Party, that inspires me with any confidence. The term ' doom loop ' springs to mind.

Labour are currently in the process of blowing the huge mandate they were awarded. I'm sure a lot of us in the course of our careers have taken jobs on where the previous incumbent made a mess. But in my experience, whilst acknowledging that initially is fine, to keep referring back to it isn't. The job's yours now, it's what you wanted so own it and get on with it. Be judged on what you do. It's not working out at all well at the moment.

I didn't vote for Labour, but it puts things into perspective that this government is a significant step up in competence from the last.

An upgrade from next to nothing to not very much.

What is inherited by the next lot is likely to have as much to do with factors Labour have no control over.

This is why we need the best skills this country can produce to turn things around. Probably an economically savvy rejuvenated conservative party. That prospect seems very remote.

I see little hope

I’m not a party animal, so none of them get my direct support. I get no benefit if any of them fail. Whoever is in power has my support to get it right. It has to be relevant to consider in a five year term the first year will not come anywhere near resolving the problems created over fourteen years.

Oh come on, surely you like a good time as much as the next man ! 🙂

Seriously though, I'm the same. I just want someone to do a decent job.

Surely a crown worn by Boris by his constant lying or perhaps hapless Truss the financial genius who crashed the economy. If Sir Starmer is that bad why is he in power making such good trade deals?

Boris was I agree a frequent liar, but Starmer has put that into the shade with his constant and non stop lying.

What exactly have Starmer’s actions that have made us ‘a joke on the world stage’ been, Owen?
Latest was his inability to endorse the US bombing of a terrorist state's nuclear weapon facilities.

Generally he will just kiss POTUS's derriere but this one was his fear of losing muslim votes.

Chagos giveaway shambles

His Albanian misadventure where he was embarrassed live by the Albanian PM

He is a busted flush

Is that the bottom of the barrel I can hear being scraped?

Starmer Derangement Syndrome off the scale with you.

I think it's just Tory jealousy, they wanted trade deals with the Usa and India but were not up to the job.Our shining knight Keir got them.
