Southampton v Crystal Palace match Thread

Their bloke was free 6 yards out, nobody near him, headed powerfully down and its Hendersons fault not the CBs going missing. Oh dear.
I think Henderson did well he got a hand on it but....
The guy had about a foot advantage over Clyne. One where Richards would probably have handled it. Replacing your best defensive header with someone Clyne's height was always a risk. Good move to set up the chance though with more one touch football than Palace managed all night

If we are going to progress next season, you would think we would need to have a better way of unlocking teams when we have more possession (though Forest are in a similar situation). We have struggled against the promoted clubs and had Everton and Brentford do the double over us.
Luckily both Villa and, City if they beat Forest, are likely to dominate possession

A good result and performance in the grand scheme. On the night s***, in the big picture though……

OG will be blowing any complacency or hubris over the weekend away now. I suspect the message to a few will be you are still playing for your place in the cup semi final -

We were even worse than I expected.
A real waste of easy points but at least we didn’t lose. Mateta needs minutes.
Wharton and Eze need to do more.
Missing Hughes.

Pleased for Franca.

We will have to be 200% better on Saturday.

It's all fine. Tight game. Didn't lose. Franca looks good. Wharton will be great when old head Hughes comes back. On the downside Eddie still looks unsettled, Mateta understandably needs time and Eze still on the mercurial side (you only finish the really difficult ones?)... having said that, dont need to play our best till end of month. Eagles!

A very disappointing display and from Glasner down no one will argue that.

We needed a reality check and on a positive note salvaged a draw.

Lots still to play for against top quality sides. Saturday will be a different altogether.

really pleased with the point well played franca great goal ,ref let to much go saints should have had at least 3 bookings i do not think it was such a bad show from us all in all

The defence didn't work with Clyne. Munoz had a poor game. Eze in and out. Mateta drew one good save. Everyone was below average. Maybe tired and not fully focused.
We need to be twice as good against the idiots we have at the weekend.
