There are many examples where punishments do not seem anywhere near correct or deter.

For crimes where the prison time would be meaningless, say 3 months or less I would use corporal punishment. Knife carriers wouldn't be so smug after that.

Used in Singapore very effectively as an example for anti social crime such as vandalism.

Personally I would stream it so we could hear the screams but that's probably an extreme view

The lenient punishment of rogue landlords that endanger the lives of their tenants by not servicing gas appliances is a scandal - there was a case in Cornwall in 2017, fined c£10,000 but still allowed to let.

Wisbech Eagle is on my ignore list but I would find it beyond funny if it was indeed him who was fined for not properly inspecting the gas boilers.

To be honest the above examples mention DUBLIN which is in The Republic of Ireland which is part of the E.U.What has this to do with Great Britain? I simply don't care about foreign issues.💩💩💩💩😱
 
Here we have yet another example of the “know it alls” posting drivel.

Deciding whether a sentence is inappropriate, by being either too lenient or too harsh, without access to all the facts about either the case or the individual involved is completely impossible.

Only the Judge has that information and the training, knowledge and experience on how to evaluate it and decide what is the appropriate course of action. It’s why we pay them!

Kangeroo courts don’t dispense justice. They dispense prejudice. Which is on display on every thread in this section so having yet another adds nothing to the world’s pool of wisdom.

What is so ridiculous is that, in the past, I have taken the time to explain that not only was this not me, it couldn’t be me. None of my properties have gas connected. It’s not available in the road. Nor do they use bottle gas. They are all electric. Not even using oil.

Completely clear, but still the stupid comments are made, presumably because someone thinks they are funny. What a strange sense of humour!
