Should OG walk

If we finish fifth or sixth then watch how the Premier League's coefficient would have suddenly changed, where only the top 4 go through. And no extra spaces for multiple winners.
Multi-club ownership, however, will be completely fine.
And Marinakis will be given a knighthood for services to football

If we finish in the top all will be forgotten
I know I am glass half-empty when it comes to Palace (and life in general), but does anyone really buy Opta's 30% chance of a top 4 finish ? The likelihood is mid-table once again. Our squad inevitably remains small and shallow for the demands of the season, and we have already seen the probable outcome of too many games with injuries to Wharton and Saar. With our 1st eleven constantly available we could compete for top 8, but even with a great manager I am struggling to see us doing better than that.

Not complaining though - what a great time it has been as a Palace fan.

If we have an amazing season and finish in the top 4 it won’t matter if Glasner leaves - we will have our pick of managers to replace him.
Completely disagree with this. Currently Oli is Crystal Palace FC. If the board have any sense now they’ll allow Oli to steer the ship and for the first time in our history focus purely on bank rolling things.

I think Oli has been very realistic in terms of he’s not hammering Parish door down demanding £30m for benteke his recruitment has been sensible and fitting for a club of our size. Max being a casing point. Whilst a top 4 finish would make us very attractive to managers who may never of considered us previously I doubt they’d have the Oli factor to make it work at a club of our size.

I think we back the man, ride the wave and at very best keep him for another 2 years before he leaves for the biggest of of jobs.

It would also be interesting to see if OG could be as successful at a Utd or whoever it may be as it’s a completely different animal. Some marriages just work and palace and OG really has been a great partnership and il be sorry when it ends. Especially if there’s more we could have done as a club to ensure that doesn’t happen.

It’s funny because I completely agree with everything you’ve said but when I look at our fixtures it’s hard at the moment to see anyone beating us.
This really is a new dawn for palace fans and we have one man to thank for the change in fortunes and expectations. It feels like we are no longer just floundering but for the first time have some top flight ambition.

According to OG in Austrian news OG said, that he had never threatened to go:

At Crystal Palace, that's why it's rumbling. "I never threatened to resign." These are false reports. After the national match break, he will clarify a few things to the English media, he announced. Glasner is currently recovering at home in the Innviertel from the "madness of recent weeks."

No team wants to play Palace at the moment

So the press have made something else up.....got a few clicks though!

Interesting. He seems to give the most candid interviews to Austrian press. Assume he feels has handful of journalists he trusts

I did wonder if some of it is the way German and English are spoken. Which you could probably throw more light on. He could have even been trying to be somewhat ironic in a German way but just doesn't have the English mannerisms of such for us to pick it up. I've known Germans and speak it a bit but not Austrians. I presume that there are some differences.

I largely agree with this. Some managers have scaled huge heights on a modest budget and built memorable teams with players few other clubs valued or wanted. Brian Clough springs to mind. Then theres your cheque book managers who cannot achieve a thing unless the club he is at provides him with a cannon that fires multiple £50 notes.
I feel Glasner is somewhere in between the two. He knows how to nurture and improve players. Equally, he knows how to take on big characters/talents like Guehi and Eze and get the absolute most from them. I'm really not that sure he'd be a huge hit at a club like City for example where he'd be flooded with players and pestered constantly by the recruitment department on who he wants to add to the 40 odd players he already has.
Equally I believe a manager that were to come in after Glasner who have to be selected very carefully. It would only work if he has a similar outlook towards coaching and likes to play in a similar way.
The longer we can hang on to OG the better as far as I'm concerned. Nothing would make me happier than to learn the club have agreed a long term contract with him thats in line with a long term strategy to establish ourselves at the next level IE: domestic cups every couple of years and regular European football.
I live in hope

I think he'd be mad not to consider it. He knows this squad and its capabilities.
I genuinely think Glasner is thinking champions league as an aim. We would need all the luck in the world but you never know. I think if we were in same position as Forest last year Ollie would get us over the line unless injury crisis hit

For me, he’s been the reason we are were we are. It’s his management stile and great team building with the players that are the key to our success. Whatever has happened Parish needs to start giving money and buying players to replace the likes of Eze and Guehi, well before we sell them not last minute.com.
This is bound to leave OG frustrated with Parish, and the board. I’m hoping that OG doesn’t go and that we can get replacements for Eze and Guehi, both have given sterling service but we can’t keep Guehi without losing on his contract. So Parish needs to grow a pair and spend some money?

It's really not that complicated, all he says is he will have to clarify things as soon as he returns, because stories have been invented by the media. Here's the original quote... I am Austrian and I can't hear a glimpse of irony or any kind of ambiguity in his original formulaion.
(VPN to Austria may be required)

No he shouldn’t, he’s got so much going for him and the club at the moment. Just keep going the bond with the players is exceptional why rock the boat?

If everything was easy there would be no sense of achievement and absolutely nothing to strive for…..

Glasner i think is wise enough to know he cannot play the counter attacking football with a top side, the fans wont except it, it only works when the opposing team is attacking you, same team vs Vila and the Norwegian side, one attacks, one defends, we go from woeful to world beaters in three days, Palace is the perfect club for him, tolerant fans, low expectations, mostly playing against teams that attack, that is why we probably will struggle against Sunderland, unless we get an early goal, and Glasner wont change his tactics for any club, he will change to the club that matches his tactics.
