Should OG walk

Because they are all liars.

One media outlet, or some moron on talksports says "I reckon its fallen apart because OG threatened to leave".

And it sounds liek a good story, so everyone now publishes it like its fact.

Time and time again the media are show to publish complete and utter fabrications. They keep doing it because they can, and the clicks keep them in a job.
I would agree with this only:

1. Deal agreed.

2. Medical was happening or concluded. Can’t remember.

3. And this is the big one. Deal sheet submitted. While no replacement was happening, at 7pm.

How are they going to change things moving forwards? The Premier League is stacked in favour of the big clubs to stop other getting near them with PSR. Newcastle have the richest owners in the world can't compete with them due to PSR. Yes, we have 3 billionaire owners, but they cant just throw loads of money in, it has to be self generated by the club, thats why the new stand is sought after.
I suggest you ask Marinakis on that one. He seems to have side stepped the issues!!

What wasn’t in anybody’s minds, until it happened, were all the implications of us winning the cup, playing in Europe but then being shafted by UEFA. It affected how we saw things, how other clubs thought they could treat us and whether players wanted to come.

So much as I respect Glasner and the job he is doing I think he is either being naive or disingenuous with remarks about agreements in March that were upended by events in May, or those remarks were calculated and coordinated with Parish to achieve an outcome.

I hope, and believe, it’s the latter. If it’s the former then I suspect Parish will be pretty upset with him for making such comments in public when they should only ever be said in private. If any employee of mine had tried to manipulate me like that then they would have been shown the door, no matter how valuable others might think they are.
But were you in a sector where your employees were hounded day and night by the press for a comment?

I think OG will see out his contract and then be approached by a "bigger" club. There are a number of clubs who spend big but don't have the manager with the ability to organise the playing staff into a winning outfit.
The only way we could possibly retain his services is by finishing top 6 and entering the Champions League the season after. I think he would be tempted by such an opportunity! And... Marc Guehi might like the sound of it too. Win win all round!

It’s much more news to report that Glasner “threatened to walk” than to say they decided to pull the plug in the absence of a decent replacement. As Glasner said just last week “ Don’t believe everything you read”!

I agree, i doubt glasner threatened to walk, why would the chairman and manager be working against each other on transfer deadline day, it just wouldn't happen, they would be working together. Glasner made his thoughts clear. There’s no chance Parish would have completely ignored his manager. I'm guessing they had an agreement in place which benefitted both the club and manager, sell and replace Guehi. Parish said we've managed the sale but we can't deliver the replacement, so Glasner said let's just pull out.

I do not believe that OG will walk away until the end of his contract in the summer.
The irony for me is that I believe OG has reached his limit with teams like Palace and Frankfurt.
Absolutely his stock is high and bigger clubs will come a calling for his services. However how many of these “bigger” clubs will his tactics be accepted/tolerated?
OG has a clear idea on how he sees the game and how he sets up his team. This pretty much requires a high press and quick transitions. We do not play with the ball and rely on these turnovers for our goals. I think it is great for teams like Palace as it is in our DNA. However the bigger clubs all want high possession and tippy tappy football that does not suit OG style.
The grass is not always greener!

Add to that that his systems requires a lot of self-discipline and team spirit which is more difficult to execute with a squad of Primadonnas all of them eager to shine. Maybe not impossible given his growing reputation but remains to be seen.

But is it a shambles or a natural consequence of being very mid sized and having to scrap at window end for the best of what's left?
Man C, A.Villa, Man Utd, Newcastle, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea were amongst the PL clubs that concluded deals on the last day of the 'Window'.

Transfer dealings are a 'Minefield' with a plethora of moving parts.
