Sentences too harsh!

Well he had already suffered a recent heart attack so he clearly wasn't a well man as is mentioned in the article see below.
A death of any sort is never nice but it would appear his days were numbered before the arrest.

Lynch had recently suffered a heart attack and had “a general conspiracy theory against anyone and any form of authority”, the Recorder of Sheffield, Judge Jeremy Richardson KC, told the court during his sentencing.

They sent an old ill man to prison for 32 months for shouting nasty words.

Even an idiot would recognise that this would put his health both mental and physical at considerable risk.

They have blood on their hands.

They take no accountability and couldn't give a feck.

It's horribly ironic that had he already been in prison he might have been one of those released to make room for others who'd done the same as him.

All of our days are numbered.
Although 1000s lead a long life after a heart attack and this man may well have without the stress of doing bird for swearing at plod and becoming one of labours scapegoats. 2TK gave the guidelines so has this as his doing !!!

Ah that’s ok then

Yeah it doesn’t matter 👍🏻

I won't say what I think of this lackey of the establishment but I think it chimes with a good number of us.

I think a good number of questions need to be asked about this time frame and the directions given (clear from Starmer's and the Met's statements) and decisions taken by several levels of the establishment and that obviously includes the legal system.

Were working class people...people vulnerable due to the cost of the legal system and a legal system set against them...advised and manipulated into guilty pleas?.....When it seems that this Labour Councilor, for example, hasn't been.

The vast majority of these people weren't violent, and as the judge himself states this old ill guy wasn't violent. So why were these non violent people held without the option of bail?

We can look at the nature of most of these crimes.....which in many cases amount to stupid comments....and then compare them to the fact they have been sent to prison for god's sake and not only that the length of the sentences are....I would suggest extreme.

The entire establishment was set against them, the two tier nature of treatment against working class whites compared to others stands out like a bloody thumb.

The left, especially those in positions of power in the institutions, claim to stand for the vulnerable yet we see their true colours when it's poor working class whites. In reality at best they hold you in contempt and I personally suggest most of them hate you and this only gave them the opportunity to demonstrate it.

the sentence is extremely harsh, however, you have to question why an ill grandfather decided to go to a place where there was a riot happening. Clearly not good for his mental and physical health.

Reading the report he also pleaded guilty - i know he may have been advised to do so but this was clearly his choice and hardly the actions of an innocent man

Reading this you’re nearly there in arguing against your own point. What would you do if you were under that pressure and they were advising (telling) you to plead guilty for your own good (you’re going down so plead guilty to get 30% off your time), which is the softest it’s going to come across?

no, but it's a fact

Him not being a well man is a fact.

His ‘days were numbered’ before the arrest is your opinion.

You’ve excused anyone being responsible because, oh well, he was going to die soon anyway before he was arrested. Erm, no, again, that’s your opinion. But why do you think that? Either it’s the reason he was at the protest/riot, your misjudgment on people who’ve had a heart attack, or you want to defend the justice system. Any combination of those?

I wonder why the sentence was extremely harsh? Is that not for political reasons, rather than the 'crime' itself? That's exactly why people think it's two tier. How long will it take me to find a violent offender who got a lesser sentence?

Come on Rudi, the bloke was a far right thug, what more do you need to know! 😉

Prison sentences for insulting words is not something I support......Let alone the outrage of giving this guy 32 months. If it were down to me this judge along with others would be immediately out on his ear.

You say he went to where a 'riot' was happening, but this is after the fact reasoning. Did he know he was going to a 'riot' or did this happen around him? He certainly had no part in a riot. He himself did not engage in violent action and the idea that someone should be sent to prison for being angry protesting the murder of children is again....outrageous.

We have Islamic protests a little white before with plenty of very angry words chanted and absolutely no arrests for it let alone prison sentences.

I get the impression that they grabbed him precisely because it's easy to pick out the old ill slow movers.

He is responsible for his behaviour, sure, but so are the highly paid actors for the state and I suggest that what they did to him amounts to such extreme and out of proportion measures that it put this vulnerable man at considerable risk....which we now see has resulted in his death.

Your last point is the most egregious one, how can you sit there and type that? Don't you understand the cost of the legal system for working people? Hell, you say he should have gone to trial when we see how biased and determined the system was to punish the old white guy fond of conspiracy? Don't you understand that when your brief is telling you what course of action you should take that going against that amounts to needing specialised knowledge? I shouldn't even have to make these points.

It's only now when looking at what has happened that we can observe that these men and women were stitched up.....The judges appear to have ignored guilty pleas and just given them ridiculous sentence lengths anyway. Mainstream outlets filmed these judges sentencing these people to harsh terms....that appears to have been done for intimidation's sake.....the establishment deliberately picking on a specific demographic which they hold in contempt.

Again, the statements made by both the PM and the Met Chief and the subsequent behaviour of their highly paid legal lackeys need close analysis and personally I feel that this country let these people down......and especially the so called caring left.

Evil that thinks it's good.

Let it not be forgotten that the only mainstream party that said anything against the severity of reaction onto these people were Reform.....Most notably Tice stood up against it.

The Tory leadership held their nose and condemned them and gave no words of sympathy at all for what happened. They fully supported and agreed with Starmer.

That's because they are basically the same people.

From Labour to Sunak and Hunt to Badenoch and Jennick.

your logic reminds me of blokes who blame rape victims on account of them wearing a skimpy dress.

What about the 73 year old lady who was stood on the pavement on her own in Whitehall doing nothing during the protest days after Southport? Did she deserve arrest? How about prison? She was arrested so clearly the police felt she’d done wrong for standing there. 32 months maybe, tho k about her choices and actions?
