Sentences too harsh!

When I see anyone apologising for a child murderer then I will condemn them unreservedly.

I haven’t seen one in my 80 years, but I suppose it’s possible.
See no evil, hear no evil …. two out of three is not so bad for an eighty-year-old.

Evil will find any excuse to justify pulling the limbs of the unborn apart.

'Oh but look at you, you're a nasty person because you believe (this interpretation) of a belief which I don't like'.

Playing the man to move the point away from what is being done.

Hamas are solely the cause of these poor people dying but don’t let the truth ruin a good story.

Some utterly insane mental gymnastics, but OK.

Your general apologist attitude to the Israeli government, who have, and continue to, murder thousands of children.
Apologist attitude? I support Israel in the war with Islamist Fascism. Unfortunately people, including children, die in wars. Who do you support?

As most pregnant women will refer to their foetus as the “baby” that’ just the NHS using their language. Same with midwives.

In a legal sense, rather than an emotional one, it is a foetus up to the time of birth.

Don’t you just love how Wissy seems to consider himself an expert on EVERYTHING that is discussed on this forum 🙄

I do wish the Israel/Gaza thing wasn't brought up as we have a thread for it and it's a crowbar point in regards to abortion.

I think accountability is very important as is the recognition that decisions on difficult topics are rarely cost free. So I like my fellow right wing followers much prefer Israel to Islamic rule in Palestine. But when you bomb an area you are killing people and a lot of them will be innocent and normies. Those aren't Hamas's bombs and I think when you engage in war this idea that one side is the light and the other the dark just isn't true.....There's no sweet and friendly way of killing people: war is hell....which is why it's best avoided.

Hamas are the Islamic resistance and when you kill people it's inevitable...Do they play into Israel's hands, sure.....they were initially supported financially by neo cons in Israel as tool for civil infighting and hence weakness against the previous PLO. This idea that Hamas is a purely organic organisation just isn't true.

I agree that a two state solution is an impossible pipedream that ened with assassination decades ago. Only the one state solution is possible but, there are various ways to achieve that and Israel won't accept any compromising and wanted the war route and that's what we have. Ever since 9/11 the overthrow of oppositional states to Israel in the middle east has been the attitude of the US state department and they have tirelessly worked towards that.

Trump has been more of a compromise within that context as while he supports the protection of Israel and the removal of Palestinians from Palestine/Israel, he also represents the limit of no more ground wars that a lot of his anti neo con base wanted.

I don’t believe that is technically correct. As I understand it Israel are taking out specific targets, be that people, premises or infrastructure - as a direct result of the attacks carried out by Hamas on October 7.

The fact that there will be collateral damage and innocent people killed is a regrettable aspect of any war…on all sides.

You may want to see what northern Gaza looks like now to see how 'specific' their targeting has been.

There is nothing nice about an abortion. It’s traumatic for the woman and her partner, if one is around. Everyone agrees that it should be avoided unless the other options are worse. Using emotional terminology to suggest those needing to make heart rending decisions are “evil” is cruel and lacks any semblance of compassion or understanding.

And it’s only towards the woman that compassion and understanding is due.

Not sure if this is the correct place but…

A London bus driver was sacked after he chased and knocked out a thief who stole a passenger's necklace.

Mark Hehir was driving the 206 bus in northwest London on 25 June 2024 when a man boarded and snatched the jewellery from a woman's neck.

An employment tribunal was told he left the bus to pursue the thief and managed to retrieve the item.

However, the man returned to the vehicle and threw "the first punch" at Mr Hehir - who hit him once in self defence, knocking him unconscious.

He then dragged the man to the pavement and restrained him for nearly half an hour.

Police arrested both of them, but Mr Hehir was later released and told he would face no further action.

Despite this, he was suspended from his job at Metroline the next day and ordered to attend a disciplinary hearing.

Now, what do we do in cases like this?

The rest of the article states that he left the vehicle unattended with the engine running and has brought Metroline’s name into disrepute.
Conversely, he retrieved the stolen property for the woman and apprehended a thief. The police have cleared him of any wrongdoing.
So he is on the right side of the law and a hero presumably to the woman. Yet now potentially broke and out of work.
So, is this a sign that Britain is broken or do we just shrug our shoulders and accept that someday we too could be a victim of crime and society will do nothing to help us?

I'll hazard a guess at the ethnicity of the robber and the ethnicity of the driver.
