Semifinals - FA Cup

I would have taken Villa in the draw, should be another tough game, but in truth it’s anyone’s from here on in.

We could do with them picking up a few injuries before the 26th. Have they got Champions League to think about?

I mean we have a really jam packed April aswell before the game and a arsenal game to be rescheduled too 😯 we are just as likely to pick up injuries and a few suspension.

We seem to get a lot more yellows these days with our "game management" tactics I have noticed. Tactical fouls and time wasting. Somthing we never have done in recent seasons. And it is working to be fair we don't concede many late goals.

Villa supporters are nervous. They see us as their bogey team.

Let’s hope that translates to their players too although I doubt it. Both sides will be well prepared and recent results mean nothing. We are though, at the moment, the form team.

Missed the Bournemouth vs Man City first half. Delighted to see it 1-0 at HT. But second half it could have been PL leaders vs mid table Championship. Bournemouth running out of steam.

Glad to have avoided Man City

Last time, international members were phase 2, adult members phase 3.

I have an international membership and an adult membership - does anyone know if I can update the adult one to international and pay the difference? So we’re both phase 2?

Villa have got Champions League QF:
Weds 9th April : PSG vs Villa
Tues 15th April : Villa vs PSG

then a potential semi-final first leg 28th to 30th April

One report I've read this morning seems to think that this means the telly people will choose Palace vs Villa as the Saturday 26th April game, though nothing official yet...

... although that would require a rational approach to fixture planning, so I guess anything's possible

... don't worry, we'll get used to checking out this website more frequently in the seasons to come!

I would imagine a late kick off then on the Saturday as our game with arsenal is now gone. And after 5 kick off does not interfere with the other 3 o clockers for maximum viewership.

On the Sunday Liverpool play at 4.30 and man u at 2. So can imagine the Sunday game being 3 o clock kick off.

Then i would suggest, that our game will be on the Sunday as Palace/Villa is a 'smaller' game than the Forest/City game which will garner a larger TV audience. Just a thought.

I'm feeling rather conspirational today;

It's suspect that Villa and City have avoided each other - that's obviously the organisers Cup Final of choice.
And for all the talk of the Openness of the cup... You know City'll win it and that the powers that be will make it harder for us to win it somehow.

I have noticed that the last two Palace F A Cup matches have kicked off at 12:15.

I asked grok what it thinks:

"I’d guess Manchester City vs. Nottingham Forest lands on Sunday, April 27, as the bigger draw for ITV’s prime slot, likely around 4:00 PM BST, capitalizing on City’s fanbase and Forest’s Cinderella story. Crystal Palace vs. Aston Villa would then slot into Saturday, April 26, probably at 5:15 PM BST on BBC, aligning with their pattern of taking the earlier semi-final. broadcasters often prefer Saturday evening for a competitive but less hyped tie, and this matchup fits that bill"

While the Saturday option if much better, the later kick off does seem to lead to increased inebriation amongst the fans!
Despite advancing years, there is something about Wembley days out and getting pissed. Low point must have been the play of against Sheffield United in 97 when I honesty couldn't remember anything the following morning!

I remember them scoring in the 265th minute, but we did it to Leicester the next year. 😀
