Semi Final Match Thread

WHAT A DAY! My twins were mascots - thank you Deano and Adam for looking after them on the pitch. You have the biggest fans in Olivia and George EVER!! So proud of the boys and all the red and blue fans today. We were in the hospitality and out numbered by Villa massively, but as always we came and delivered. One more round - one more game to make history ❤️💙

Brilliant. A memory to last a lifetime. Congratulations to them and to you.

What a performance, it is very hard to single out one player for MOTM based on what happened yesterday. I’m still stunned at how Palace swept Villa and their fans away in that fashion!

He wasn't excellent versus Arsenal though, he was fine. And today he did some good play, such as his setup on the back stick, and that jinky run, but he also mistimed quite a few challenges that could've caused us problems.

Glasner picks the side, it's his opinion, but there's no question that Hughes has been a better player for us this season.

You really are a incredulous so and so.

Trust our manager.

Accept that there are facets of the game that you just dont see/understand, given the fact that you have (I presume) zero coaching badges/qualifications

But above all, just try and support

Up Wembley way pre-game, I’m guessing 16-18 year old Palace fans were causing trouble, trying to start fights and got manhandled by the police. The height of embarrassment.

On train on way back and some Palace fans, between 18-25 y/o on our train, acting like complete cvnts.

Maybe I’m becoming a bit of a moany old man but I’ve never, ever, wanted to see Palace fans get laid out until today.

The lot of them looked as though they couldn’t fight a cold but a few cracks would have been deserved if they came.

I can’t remember being as angry as I was for a very long time. Soured an otherwise incredible day as a Palace fan.

We haven’t just made it through to the Cup Final, we’ve smashed our way there.

I am too that many old man & drove up!
This lot coming through now are the new bread & the result of modern parenting.....never told off by parents or teachers.
Never had a scrap as do all their big man stuff chest heating online, so when released into the public they haven't got a f***ing clue how to behave. So to hide their insecurities they act like c****

Still on cloud 9 this morning.
An extraordinary performance from the team.

My abiding memory is Sarr collapsing on the pitch at the final whistle and laying prone on the pitch for a few minutes.
He had given his all and left everything on the pitch.

Just two minutes before he had made another lung busting sprint to try and get on the end of a Munoz cross to try and complete a hat trick.

I'm highlighting Sarr, but could have made similar observations about all of them.

Sarr was immense, he has been improving for us all season as he settles into the club and his understanding with the other players develops (Muñoz, JP & Wharton in particular).

He is proving to be a good ‘finisher’ and now has eleven goals for us this season and is scoring some extremely well taken and self made goals. He also has six assists for us and his set up for Eze today was superb. I watched his first goal on MOTD and it looked even better on tele than in real life - it was further out than I had thought and was struck so precisely and so well that Martinez stood no chance. Coming so soon after the missed penalty I think that really settled us down and was the pivotal factor in our win.

MotM for me today (although they were all superb!) with two goals and an assist.

Very well put.

I would guess that none of them have ever had to face the reality of being in an actual fight and thus the consequences of their behaviour.

I’m sure every new generation gets moaned about but there’s nothing worse than a delusional one that mirrors behaviour it sees in the internet, to the detriment of our club.

Didn’t see any of them getting nicked by the police or actually having to deal with a real fight but I’d of welcomed that sight.

Agree all round Phil.

Was a lot more power in Eze’s shot than I first realised, ‘twas a fine finish!

As for Sarr, he was head and shoulder my MoTM. If I ever wondered what the hype/our interest was in him previously, I have no further questions now. Talk about rising to the occasion.

Super Sarr is the headline on the Sunday Times match report. Says it all.

Time travel then back to early eighties, waking up Wembley way abusing people.
After they pulled the darts out their foreheads just in time for the bottle to hit home.....
The good old days when actions had consequences 🤣

Travelled back to Birmingham with a train full of Villa fans. To give therm credit, those that saw me said "best team won", "all credit to Palace" "Now go and win it". A couple even came up to me and shook my hand.

Al-in-all a marvellous day out. Probabaly our most complete performance of the season and who would have seen that coming after the Citeh and Newcastle disasters?

Difficult to pick a MotM because everyone did their job in a brilliant team effort (even Kamada!).

Can only agree with previous post, going away from Wembley, the Villa fans were gracious in defeat wishing us luck in the final, in a little chat with a group of them one of them remarked on our support, saying "the noise you lot make is phenomenal" . Great day, bring on the final
