Sarr Injury

So Wharton and Sarr out for maybe 2 months. Pino withdrawn from Spain squad with an ankle injury.

The dangers of having a thin squad playing in 4 competitions is clear.

He also signalled to the bench to sub him but they left him on the pitch which seemed strange, he then went off a few minutes later injured
He clearly mouths “no subs?” whilst acting surprised at being told by the bench that we’d used our substitute allowance (either 5 subs or 3 separate substitute stoppages).

Even without Europe, I remember a couple of years ago, we seemed to have the worst luck with injuries, there was no way a club could be as unlucky as us, I think we were only actually about 10th in the league for minutes lost through injury. With the intensity they play at today, its just part of the game, theres no way you can compete without a strong enough squad.

Nonsense. If you get the chance to see it again it is very clear that he doesn’t dive but is felled by the pulled muscle. I know someone this happened to and he said it felt like being shot (although, never having been shot, I’m not sure how he knew).

This is 100% correct. For anyone who has played the game and done a hamstring, the movement of Sarr was a classic reaction to feeling his hammy go.

Ref wouldn’t stop play. Wharton went down twice but ref didn’t blow even though he didn’t look right. Poor refereeing as probably made injury worse
