Rumours, Sarr picked up a grade 2 hamstring injury whilst getting booked for simulation! (Dick of a ref but that’s another story).

From what I’ve read that would normally be a 6-8 week recovery time.

Looks like Esse or our new chaps are going to be pushed into full time action very quickly.

The injury yes was picked up during the dive but what caused it was the huge amount of games played in short space of times with no rotation.

Wharton also got injured aswell I think?

Looked like a groin strain. Hopefully not as bad as last years that kept him out so long. We might know more on this more quickly as presume England will want to assess him so if they send him back it will be worrying.

He was out for so long last year cos he had an operation on his groin to solve the issue. Obviously hasn’t worked as well as they hoped.

Worrying to see Wharton appears to have injured the same groin again, is this going to be a regular occurrence for him i wonder.
The hamstring re Sarrs injury is really bad news as him and Mateta the 2 serious attacking outlets we have.

Wharton's already been pulled from the England squad.

OG was quick to blame himself for the 2 injuries as the metrics pre-match were such as to point to there being a risk in playing both Sarr and Wharton. I do wonder whether his refusal to do more rotation of players during the month was aimed at Parish re the lack of business and that OG now regrets doing that.

I think you're correct in your observation about Glasner and lack of squad options.
It's now been confirmed that Sarr has a grade 2 hamstring injury, has withdrawn from the Senegal squad and could be out for 4 weeks.
If Wharton is missing too the squad starts to look stretched again.

Think glasner needs to give Esse more play time or even bring back Rak-Sakyi i'm sure they would do a job for him?

I know he dosent rate them but surely he should give them a chance?

It was pretty obvious Sarr pulled up with a hamstring injury and went to ground because of it. That blind d**khead of a referee assumed it was simulation and booked him.
With these 2 injured we might get to see something of Esse and the new guys. Canvot can play DM and Uche has played everywhere but in goal! I fancy Pino in the Wharton role with Uche and Esse either side of Mateta.

As it's a grade 2 tear could be up to 8 weeks for Sarr.
Wharton has withdrawn from.the England squad, although there is a lack of information on the injury.
The selection v Sunderland will be interesting.
I just hope others don't get injured on international duty.

I dont think it was the dive that caused the injury, I think it was the injury that caused the dive. Watch it in slow motion and you will see. I think Sarr was trying to explain that to the ref but was lacking the necessary english.

Why blame the ref? Sarr was trying to cheat. It was an appalling dive and the ref was entirely correct in booking him. And then to compound the issue he manages to injure himself in the process.

Nonsense. If you get the chance to see it again it is very clear that he doesn’t dive but is felled by the pulled muscle. I know someone this happened to and he said it felt like being shot (although, never having been shot, I’m not sure how he knew).
