Keith Millen told a funny story about Pulis.
We had beaten Chelsea 1-0 and Ward had a stormer of a game, including the cross leading to the John Terry og.
Millen was praising Ward to the heavens to the coaching staff until Pulis interrupted, 'For God's sake don't tell Ward that.'
He was the ultimate 'keep the feet on the ground manager ' and hated signs of complacency.
Mind you, I'm not sure how he'd cope with modern dressing rooms and their agents.
He's alleged to have headbutted James Beattie when at Stoke when he believed Beattie to be out of order.

That squad are 100% playing for Sage. They may not be fully understanding what he wants from them just yet but there is no lack of effort. I cannot believe there is unrest in the dressing room apart from the usual whining from fringe players that aren't getting picked. This happens in every dressing room. A reason why Glasner loved Hughes and Devenney. Both rumoured to be very calm when not playing and very supportive of the team.

Coppell said we were still s*** when we won 4-1. Against West Brom I think.

The press seem to always want to cause problems for Palace. If its not touting our best players for sale day in day out its stuff like this

I urge someone to give me another manager that can match half of those 10/10's above who is realistically on our radar.

Although I do agree with several others about another manager with similar pedigree being number one on most people's wish list and that is Scott Parker. He would take us to the next level, as I'm sure Edwards could given the chance

Let's stop this new modern premier league mantra of hiring unknown European managers who have less than 100 games under their coaching career. Especially like the one we currently have who was sacked after his first season in management for producing the clubs worst season in 25 years.

AA at Fulham also falls into that category and has almost 50% of the club season ticket holders calling for his sacking already.

Would love to see the Sky Sports news banner saying Robbie Edwards appointed the new Crystal Palace manager but we can dream, for now.

The kind of manager who would fit into the Alec Ferguson or Arsen Venga frame by potentially managing us for the next 20 years.

Showed astonishing lack of loyalty to Middlesborough who gave him a big opportunity. Crashed and burned and would have taken Luton into League 1 if their owner hadn't pulled the trigger. Was a disaster at Wolves.
For character alone I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. Another Phil Brown. Loves himself

Last I knew Phil Brown was managing Kidderminster. I'd say he's likely gone but he did well for them. I think he's probably free.
Good shout, Phil Brown, a garden and some headphones.
 
Looks like Sage has finally hit the ground running. Courant.

Pleased for him. But if things go belly-up, i still reckon Sage is a good manager. And our Player recruitment & player selling departments need to be improved.

I have to agree, I have always liked a manager that rolls his sleeves up and is in it with us, the under dogs.. that vibe.. passionate, maybe even old school.. esp when the chips are down...

Sage looks like he's waiting to deliver milk tray to Jane in the players lounge..
